Parents out there, what seat protector are you using?

Hi All,

Just got a 2017 M3 a few weeks ago. So far have been loving it. One of the main reasons I got it was because of how great of a daily it is, and that includes transporting my 3 year old around town. I use the Diono 3RXT Car Seat, and i'm using a Summer Infant car seat protector underneath the car seat (same one I have used in all my other cars), but it is sliding around like crazy! I've tired 3 other ones from Amazon, all claiming grip, but nothing works. With the car seat in the tightest position I can get it, the protector slides maybe 3-4 inches in either direction, moving the car seat with it. So pretty unsafe.

Anyone have any recommendations on what works? If I remove the protector, the car seat is solid and does not move, but I'm worried about indentation, and tearing of the seat. Kid doesn't eat in my car, so not worried about that part.

Thanks in advance!

I just folded a bath towel in half and used that.

Foam padding I glued to the bottom of the car seat. You could also use rubber yoga mat cut to size.

Britax has an all rubber seat protector that does not slide at all. But it only cover the lower seat cushion, and does not cover the backrest at all.

I have this Clek Mat Thingy (https://www.albeebaby.com/clek-mat-thingy.html) that works very well. I have one for a Clek Fllo convertible seat, but it also fits underneath a maxi cosi booster seat -- so, I'm pretty sure it'll work for other brands as well. It's wide and really grippy, and it sticks well to the backseat of our F80.

Above are some recent pictures of my new setup with Britax seats for my 5.5yo and 1.5yo. I am happy with the outcome and found the car seats match my Silverstone interior really well. I'm using the protectors below and have checked for bleeding into the leather every week or so with no issues so far. I was nervous to use the rubber/silicone protectors from Britax or other companies because of the effect on the leather.

I second getting the Clek Mat Thingy. They've saved me from spills and hold liquid. They don't slide around.

Switched to these and couldn't be happier. Very sturdy and they have a ridged design that essentially holds the seat (and any spills) in place.

Great question and I don't recall seeing another like thread. I don't have children but have (4) nieces that are in booster seats (I think that's what they are called). Assuming some of the responses would apply to both. Thoughts?

With these seat protectors, are there any issues with indentations/imprints on the leather from the seat base?
