Water accumulation under car after rain?
I recently bought my M4 a week ago, it rained the day before but it seems like the water has accumulated and is slowly draining (drop by drop) from the front passenger side. I touched the liquid and it had no smell or color to it. Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions?

Is it a sunroof top? Is it a brand new car?

It could be partially plugged. And that’s why it’s a slow drip. If it is plugged and gets worse it going in your car next rain Or just take it to BMW and tell them to check it. Good luck !

The photo the OP posted is of the right front corner of the car. You can see the plastic splash shield that covers the auxiliary radiator and the big aluminum belly pan in the background. The plastic shield has a little hole in it to allow water drainage. Since the fluid is clear and has no smell, there are no concerns about it being a coolant leak.
Because of how the front of the car is built, water can get to that location quite easily, so it could have accumulated almost anywhere in the engine compartment and slowly migrated down to that spot by gravity. There is nothing to be concerned about here. Cooler temps and not being driven means the water hasn’t been able evaporate. It has been raining like mad here and I have water coming out of every orifice on my M3. |

We did an mid-interval oil change on my wife's M3 today and while it was up on the QuickJacks, I took the opportunity to take a picture of the right front Lower Deflector. As I remembered, and as you can see, there is a whole in this panel, presumably a drainage hole, and it looks like it was doing it's job on the OP's car, draining water that had made its way down to the Lower Deflector and then out through the drainage hole:

Why do you think that a clogged drain would drain out through the hole in the right front Lower Deflector?

if sunroof was closed, and probably was, it's drain hoses and everything underneath should be dry. Hence the seal around the glass. I'm confused with so many of you suggesting it as a culprit .

The seal around the sunroof is not watertight. That's why it has drains. They do clog, even if the sunroof is never opened. They can get an accumulation of bio-film or insect nests (spiders often).

Accumulated water that drains from literally anything will eventually slow to a drip, and then stop dripping. That doesn't happen just because something is clogged, it's just physics...
