Is it just me? MAD vs AA Mid Pipe

On my 2016 I had an AA single mid pipe that seems noticeably louder than my 2018 with a MAD mid pipe.

All other things are equal. The design and material I thought were very much the same, is my 2018 just more insulated?

There’s no additional sound deadening material added to later production cars. The design may be identical (copied) but is it the same thickness and the exact same 300 series SS?

They sound the same, same steel material and quality, same design.

Just you

There is no sound difference between the two.

Just a Price difference.

So a blatant copy of the AA design. Price should be lower considering they had zero R&D and I bet I can guess where it’s fabricated which again reduces the price. All weld quality is identical to AA?

Our Midpipe is 40% cheaper. Both products are manufactured in the same county. We utilize our own manufacturer, known for their use of high-quality stainless steel and precision welds. Additionally, our product comes with a lifetime warranty, a feature not offered by the competition.

It’s still a blatant copy of a design originally developed by AA. What version of 300-series SS is used and what about their mat certs? So you’re saying your design and welds are superior to AA’s original design and fabrication? I’ve had an AA single mid since 2016 and I’d still buy theirs still today because they are the ones that tested and developed the single midpipe. AA midpipe still looks like it did when it was installed eight years ago.

I'm glad you like your midpipe. No issues from me I was simply responding to the op, about the idea that one sounds different than the other.

I answered all of your questions but now you are putting words in my mouth.

1. You said our product must be inferior in some way and now you are saying that we said "design and welds are superior to AA’s original design and fabrication" I never wrote that.

- I explained we have our own manufacturer that produces our midipipes with excellent quality welds and we use 304 stainless on all of our products.

2. You said it should be cheaper - its 40% less.

3. You said they are made in different countries- I let you know they are not.

4.Our warranty is LIFETIME compared to 1 year.

I asked a question which is different from putting words in your mouth. I didn’t challenge any of your responses. If higher quality SS is used in your copied version then you should have no problem stating which 300-series SS is used and providing a material certification supporting your statement of using higher quality materials or are there no material certs available? Supposedly your manufacturer has higher weld quality. These statements imply your design is superior, hence the reason for my question. It’s great that you blatantly copy someone else’s design, call it your own and sell it for less. Kudos to you. It’s perfectly acceptable to get inspiration from an existing design but a 100% copied design speaks volumes. Did you even put a pre-production version on a car and dyno it to see if it made more power/torque, shift the power curve and/or modify/improve AA’s original design? Won’t be surprised if the answer is “no”.

I sense we're repeating ourselves, so I'll make this my final response.

As previously mentioned, our midpipe has excellent welds and is crafted from 304 stainless steel. I can't speak to the materials or weld quality of your midpipe. My focus is solely on the quality of our own midpipe and not a this VS that type of comparison.

This went off the rails a bit but can report back the sound/volume is indeed the same. My valves were being stuck closed for some reason.

2018 F8x's have the opf filter and burbles are not as aggressive I heard. Might be that.

Have the AA cats, but as a reference for the Mad midpipe:

To say the least. Glad you figured it out.
