Looks like one of those foil survival blankets.
I love it...that's a good one. Always beneficial to have a dual purpose heat shield in times of need.

I also buy the BMW version for all my BMWs. I've tried others as well, but I like the fit and construction and the fact that it folds flat and I don't need to roll it up.

The one Apollo_1092 has is the same that I use. I purchased it when I had the M235 and it works on the M4. Not perfect but works

I have been buying from HeatShield for years. Custom made for the model and they are sturdy and durable.

I use the Ultimate Reflector Windshield Sunshade which I buy from Bavarian Auto. My wife's been using one in her 2011 335is Coupe for 5 years, I've had one in my 2006 Z4 M Roadster for 4 years, and I just bought one for my M4. Custom fit for each model.

They don't have the Bavarian Autosport name and/or logo on them (nothing at all) and appear to be of higher quality than the one pictured above. My wife uses hers constantly, there's been no degradation, and it looks as good as the new one for the M4. They have the shiny silver foil on one side and black felt on the other side. They accordion-fold to about 4-5 inches wide and are as long as the height of your windshield. Comes with a black vinyl storage bag with a Velcro closure. No huge "BMW" on the front. They're actually made by Intro-Tech and sold by a number of auto accessory retailers, such as California Car Cover and others.

The model number for the M4 is BM-79-R and I paid $54.95.

Nonsense! Everyone knows that only BMW branded shields can block the specific frequency of negatively birefringent crystal modulated gamma radiation that passes through the windshield of a BMW. Jeez... And I thought people on this forum knew stuff.

I was wondering if anyone would catch the gout reference. Good job.

You can crack a gout joke without being a doc if you are a PA, in the ER. 15 years of beefy red MTP joints.

Negatively birefringent crystals...didn't know gout was blocked by the sunshade...impressive!

I like your train of thought.

Only if its a BMW branded shade!!! Ride in a car with any other branded shade and studies show you'll end up with a red painful toe.

Those studies also showed that the average human body contains enough bones to make an entire skeleton. Who knew?

But I digress...

On a side note, if you took all of the arteries, veins and capillaries out of a person and laid them end to end you would kill that person.

I have been using their products for years. Much better than anything that you can find anywhere else!
When I go to the heat shield website, M3 isn't a choice. Does the F30 sun visor work with the f80?

I'm hoping someone will chime in that the M4 version will fit the M3/F80. Only concern I have is rolling the shield as I wonder if it makes it curl on the ends so the right and left edges of the windshield aren't covered fully.

Does anyone have any experience with getting the sunshade in place while having the blend mount radar detector below the mirror?

Cover Craft UVS100 fitment less than perfect? Anyone tried weathertech sunshield?

Hey guys,

Ordered this guy:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009B9H8ME..._5-zmvb1Q45JP6

cause everyone seems to be raving about it and it shows up and definitely does not "fit like a glove" like some of you claim.

I've got maybe 2 or 3 inches on either side of the windshield and maybe a few inches up top. What gives?

Did the get the wrong product or is that as good as its gonna get.

On a side note, anyone tried the weathertech product?

Might pick that up to see if the fitment is better.

http://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2016/m3-f80/techshade/

It fits great on my F80. Maybe small gaps on the side but not the types of gaps you're reporting. Maybe you're jamming it too far down between the dash and windshield?

Any other alternatives or are these the main two? I've been looking for one as well but can't seem to find the "right" one yet.

Ah yeah that may be the case. Maybe I have to play with it a bit.
