Garages?

Garages. Do you garage your M. Is it a must in your opinion. I've lived in the UK before and last time, I was lucky enough to have a two car garage. We will be moving back in September but most the good rentals we are finding don't have garages. I would never consider this in Colorado for a number of obvious reasons but mainly because the high desert sun here would likely destroy the CF roof. Obviously that would be less of a concern in the UK.

Thoughts?

The weather isn't an issue tbh. A great deal does depend on where you're going to live, in respect of increasing the odds that your car will still be there in the morning.
I appreciate your potential difficulty, but would personally always garage if at all possible.

I live in California, so we don't have to worry much about road or weather conditions...yet I still feel that a garage is must have item; there are many esthetic benefits (car stays cleaner longer, less wear on paint, plastics interior and so forth), not to mention the level of security (almost no chance of theft or accidental damage).

Well, my m3 was stolen from a Manhattan parking garage on the upper east side. 3 thugs beat up the overnight valet attendant and took my car plus RR sports. Long story but the car was recovered with some minor damage.

A garage is better than street parking but you can only protect your child for so long before they are hurt.

Thanks fellas. To be fair I'll be living in a all village in Suffolk somewhere near Lakenheath/Mildenhall. Not too worried about theives or vandals.

In that case you should be fine without a garage buddy. It's always worth checking though, if the village has suffered any car theft in the last 12 months.
Should be quite easy to contact the local Neighbourhood Policing team on the old interweb, for your peace of mind.

If you're concerned about maintaining its condition you may want to consider a car cover. I bought one during lockdown as I seemed to be spending more time cleaning the car than driving it. Admittedly, my car is parked on the driveway so security is less of a concern. Kept the bird mess away and I can remove it in 2 minutes for a clean getaway! It's been a great investment

The places we are looking at have private drives at least. The main concern is sun damage to the roof, weather, bird mess.
