Picking up another E46 in a couple weeks and still trying to decide between waiting on the M2, or get the F80 M3.
dude i told you. while you are there go get an E30 sport evo or a CSL!

Not even remotely close to what some guys here have had. I've owned 2 M cars (have had some other BMW's), and still have them

1st M car is my E92 M3. Sgraph/Bamboo Beige, CF roof, 6MT. 2nd owner
2nd M car is my E36 M3 coupe. Techno Violet/Dove, 5MT, bought used from a local enthusiast

While the E36 M3 always gets flack for being a "fake" M car, I'm really not sure I want to get rid of it. I really enjoy driving it, it's cheap to run, and the handling is fantastic.

My few options are:
1) Sell E36 M3, get an M2 to replace it in a few years. (probably the most "sensible")
2) Keep both M3's, add F80 LCI
3) Keep both M3's, add Z4M Coupe

Like I said, the E36 M3 is going up in value and I know I have a good one. I guess we'll see. Any advice for fellow M fanatics is welcomed here, as some of you have owned a boat load of them.

Option (2) for sure if you can swing. The F80 is superb, particularly if you autocross.

But I'd hold onto your current M3s if you have the space. I regret selling both my E36 and especially my E46 but I left europe so didn't have much choice.

keep the E36. not many of them around in decent shape either. although i think the 95 M3 was more desirable. if it has original paint in good shape its a keeper. been in a wreck or had panels resprayed other than front bumper by now maybe want to find another example if keeping longer term.

Hahaha, well I'm definitely keeping my eyes peeled for an E30...harder to come by off the high-retail market.

CSL is a maybe, when I have to move back to the states I'd have to import it in the non-street legal "show/race" car category. Not all that bad I suppose.

It's been in a minor fender bender before, so it's not all original paint. However, the paint match is great.

The car is what it is. That's a great daily driver (and not a garage queen) with 127k miles. Which is definitely not EAG status, but it is lower than average. And mechanically, it's spot on because the previous owner and I have done almost everything that needs to be done.

I guess for me, it's just such a cheap car for what it is. For a low teens car, I can't think of a more rewarding car to drive, not to mention they'll run 200k miles without too much of a hiccup. I guess I'll have to test drive the M2 first before making this decision.

I hear you on that. I have an E46 ZHP for daily commuting. its fantastic car. its actually just way too damn economical to give up really.
