I called it the wrong name. Went to BMW parts diagram and found out it is called the Hood Adjuster. Item #2 in the diagram below.

What's the purpose of that part? Wonder if I should buy one for my 2018. Closing the hood is so loud.

That piece is supposed to limit the hood from over traveling when you slam it shut. At the same time, it also provides a soft cushion as you slam the hood.

So i would say that it should help with the loud closing sound. Don't take my word for it, go slam a hood on a 2016 and compare for yourself. If it helps, its only less than $5 to buy.

New non-CF driveshaft with Nov 17 production...

Not like the CF driveshaft was a major selling point in 2015...

MY2015 and MY2016 have the same software - iDrive 4.2. However (vs. MY2015) only the MY2016 has newer CPU/GPU hardware and 4G/LTE connectivity for OTA map updates, when ordered with Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone integration option.

MY2017 got iDrive 5.0 and new screen resolution: 1440x540 vs 1280x480.

So I was able to ask the BMW reps during my ED at the Welt why the washers are no longer on the 2018:

2018 come standard with LED headlights. With previous years LED's were not standard and by law, BMW was required to provide washers for the halogen headlights which if covered by bugs that get stuck to the hot lenses would effect visibility at night. LED's don't get as hot = no washers needed.

My 2018 did not come with washers. It is a bit of a cleaner look.

That said, apparently there is yet another box to check to still have the washers for 200 some euros....

Not sure whatsoever if this is new or not, but our DCT has a brake pedal the size of the one in a manual. Maybe this is how they all are but never noticed it during a test drive.

Gives me more room to stretch my legs out... I start to lose my mind if I can't extend my legs fully and I don't like playing with my seat settings to do it.

Ha, I never even thought about it coming from a 6MT ... always looked normal to me.
