You weren't out on the Dulles Greenway by chance? My dad (whom is a Bimmer fan) stroked a guy a ticket in a M3 that he was driving from the dealer!

That was where it happened and it was most likely me. So your dad was the nice state cop who got me (whose last name starts with an H?) He was cool - he really liked my M3. Started off by saying "Okay you have a really nice car but you gotta slow it down!" Said he was a BMW fan and has owned a bunch of bimmers, and told me he was planning on doing a European Delivery soon on an M4. He asked a few questions about if it had launch control and if it had runflats. Just wished that he let me off with a warning instead of giving me the ticket!

Haha small world, tell him I say hi! You're going to love your M4. What colors/options did you get?

Crazy I tried to get him to let you go, but it was holiday enforcement. He wrote 20 tickets that day.

Mineral gray, full Sakhir, executive package, lighting,...everything but the driver assist.

Crazy indeed! Also that's the same setup I have on my F80. 6MT or DCT?

Best color combo + 6MT = perfection.

Lol, he's going to use that commission off you to pay for that M4. You are helping for a good cause!

DCT. Wanted a 6 but the wife can't drive a stick and I'm not teaching her in this.

Turns out he was just talking about his son, forum member BOEING DRIVER getting the M4 on ED (but probably wished that it was him!).

Seriously funny story, albeit for the speeding ticket. Maybe Boeing Driver can get dad to not show up on court day for you, and in return a spin in the M3 can be arranged. Plus he'd have legend status on the bimmer boards!

Remember my first drive home, I couldn't stop punching it thru the gears, 6MT heaven!

The "breathe on the gas pedal and the torque is there" reminds me a lot of the AMG. I loved my e9x but the torque in f8x is ridiculous.

It really is quite violent. Even more so on a DCT. Even though I own a 6MT myself the DCT is a riot.

He's actually going with me. He's been to Germany a ton in his previous career so he's gonna show me the ropes. Gonna have a blast!

This car is insane. It's the combination of the power, chassis, and sound (yes, that deep, brawny exhaust note that comes on at 4k in Sport Plus). This is a superb car, and that's before accounting for the price. Fantastic engineering.

He'll be there. He has the most amount of tickets this year in NOVA. Maybe plead guilty for a lesser and only pay court cost and get zero points.

Back in the day yes..., but nowadays insurance companies do yearly driver license sweeps on policy holders. Speeding is still speeding no matter what the enforced judicial penalty sentenced.

That's what I'm saying. If you don't have any points, your insurance doesn't go up.
