In case nobody has ever played "speedway", it's a game of driving strategy and luck. Gameplay begins on the freeway in heavy traffic where you and 1-X other drivers spontaneously agree that you're going to compete to see who can bust the best low-speed moves to be "in the lead". The distance and duration of the game are opened ended, so it can be a fun way to pass the time. I see this most often in the MN, IA, WI, MI, IL. If it's a good game lasting longer than 20 minutes, drivers will usually wave, thumbs-up, and congratulate each other, and sometimes even spontaneously hit a happy hour together, agreed to via the universal sign language sign for "drink?". Sometimes it's surprising how good those Minivan or Prius drivers can be. I've heard.

get a bit closer to the canyons ... plenty of speedway action. Even on Highway 1 when and where it's not a disaster.

This occurred this AM.
I'm on the freeway and happen to notice a JahreF80 so I speed up a bit and we enter onto a different freeway together. I'm trying to get next to him so I can wave, checkout the car and basically say wassup but he starts to weave in and out of cars like I'm trying to race him. There was surprisingly a lot of traffic for an early Sat AM so I just let him go LOL. I get it, but then again I don't - LOL. I was seriously just trying to give some props to another owner and this is what ends up happening lol. This is why there's such a stigma about these cars... |

I was cruising down a local street and noticed a new M4 ZCP a few cars ahead. Stayed under the limit and pulled up to wave at him, but for some reason he sped up and lifted the gas to M-Queef at me, which was just odd and especially lame because he was 100% stock. Thought he was just having fun, so I caught up to him and then BAM he boned out and starting weaving through traffic, continuing to left off the gas for more queefs. Loser!

I got this once a week. Same dude in a Chevy SS. Sounded like open pipes. Drives next to me for 10-15 secs then mashes it. Rinse and repeat. Finally annoyed I played along. He got small quick in the rear view.

Some funny stuff in this thread!
Full Disclosure: I'm definitely a "spirited" driver. So I can see why this article calls M3 owners the worst of the worst lol. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...-a8151111.html That said, I do feel like other vehicles are "in the way" a lot. Left lane pirates. Intentional cut offs. Mexican roadblocks. Prius dicks trying to make a point. I usually just power around the obstacle. I have notice though that when I'm in my wife's car I see more people street racing. Then I get pissed because I'm missing all the fun!

Reading this thread, I'm glad I don't have to deal with Freeways like you all in Cali.
