For the non-adaptive LCI LED headlight, only the outer lens emits light?

Maybe this is old news, but I just noticed that my 2019 M4 headlight only emits light from the outer lens. Switching to high beams only re-points the light from the outer lens up. The inner lens is completely blacked out. There are no LED or light element in there.

Anyone else see this same, um, feature? Is this only for 2019?

Yes, this is old news. It was the same with the pre-LCI xenon projectors, the inner lights are just a prop on the F8X, they don't even have a lightbulb inside. Only with the full adaptive LED headlights (pre and post LCI) are the the inner lights functional.

As a tidbit, the inner lights on the E9X sole purpose was for tight cornering lights, but at least they were functional.
