Took delivery of 2016 M4 - can confirm changes

You 2015 F8x guys sound like some sour grapes hahaha. I see no reason for the Welt delivery staff to lie on this. Though I would defer final judgment until we get side by side comparisons. Even then, I'm guessing the difference is subtle so unless heard in person it may hard to pickup unless we have some sound engineers on this forum that would lend us their services and analyze the sound data.

Since I'm on my soapbox, it is inevitable that there would be updates to the F8x cars since 2015 was the 1st model year. I'm even more sure that there will be more changes in subsequent MYs but who cares. Be happy for the 2016 guys and be glad you've had the chance to enjoy your cars longer than we have. Unless you took deliver in July then I guess that month-month and a half could be debatable

If we were talking the new M3, I would be inclined to agree as it has new parts. But the video is of an M4 (No LCI)

I'm just going by what these so-called delivery specialists are saying. I have to assume they know what they're talking about and have been approved by their higher-ups to speak to certain improvements.

I just don't think they would say something unless there's at least some validity to it.

Not so called - actually called. My ED contact called them that in an email when I tired to get the same guy I had in 2012 who was awesome.

The paint on the 15's is shinier. Definitely. The New improved formula lacks the sheen....

I had no issue with the way the '15 exhaust sounded especially after the valve mod. I liked it a lot from my many test drives.

So if there really is an improvement on the '16 it is just an added bonus for me. And an improvement, no matter how small or large, on an already good thing.

I'm 2015 and I'm no sour grape, if there is an improvement in the rear silencer/exhaust flap, I want to retrofit this in my car.

I hope each model year introduces improvements. And I have no doubt the next generation M3 will be better than my 2016.

Gives me another goal to reach for and keeps the other brands on their toes. And we all know why they are on their toes.... To look taller in the face of the mighty BMW!!!

Edit, I didn't directly look at the seat adjustment switches but I believe they are still black

Edit again, the switches for seat adjustment are indeed chrome now. My mistake!

Interesting.... so far to me it just sounds like they made a fix to cut out the metallic rattling noise which naturally makes it sound a bit deeper and different.

Yeah, hard to know at this point how much of a difference this makes (if any), but at least this should clear some of the confusion and confirm that there is indeed a part change.
