Lost key fob - help
Anyone know if the dealer can come out with a new one and program your car? Don't have the backup key fob and my car is parked in a garage so the tow truck can't get in.
Any help is appreciated. |

Yeah, I'd assume they can get it done. Call your Sa in the morning. I've had two keys made already and I can totally see myself doing it this the way you described too. Best of luck!

the key fobs are ordered direct from factory using the cars vin. The fobs are sent pre programed. Dealers dont have a master key that can just come down and help you out unfortunately. Might be a good idea though, ill have to look into that.
You most likely will need to call your dealer and get your order in for a new fob which they should be able to get for you pretty quickly

Hey I posted about using the BMW remote app to unlock and the post was deleted. Any reason why?

By they way, in the US, the remote app cannot unlock the car without a call to BMW. So the app does nothing for you - you need to call BMW Assist. |

I dont know exactly but I would assume a comfort access key will run you 220-350 range if I had to guess

On the older key fobs for the E-chassis cars it was about $200-250 with CA. Now they're like $400 after tax for a non-CA D: Plus dealerships will charge to initialize the Comfort Access features too. Anywhere between a half hour to an hour of labor. So all in all you're looking at like $500-600 if you have Comfort.

When I lost an F30 key, the replacement fob was $320, the manual key insert was $120, and programming the car to accept the new key was $120. In short, don't lose the fuckin' key!
