On a serious note, regarding dentists and BMWs, I remember reading something about an all day CE course that was supposed to take place at the BMW Performance Center in Thermal, CA (driving and learning).

It was cancelled due to lack of interest!!! I'm on the other coast, so I couldn't go, but I was surprised that they couldn't get enough cali dentists to attend this thing.

As an associate, I took call for the group practice I was part of. I get paged Sunday morning, at 7am. And I think "ooooooofcourse!"

Turns out to be a new patient to the practice, asking if she can schedule an emergency whitening appointment for her boyfriend who has a job interview on Monday.

Frankly, we don't charge you turd heads enough!

Ok the results are in from last night's meeting and its very obvious that South Florida is an outlier!!!

There were a total of 23 cars (including mine) out of which 16 were BMWs. 14 out of 23 were white and 9 out of 16 BMWs were white!!! 2 AW X6, 1 MW X5M, 1 AW M4, 1 AW X1, 1 AW 740i and 3 AW 5 series. There was 1 white Ghibli , 2 white Teslas, 1 white Escalade and 1 white Corvette.

Now to complicate things even further, out of the non-white BMWs there was 1 YMB M3 and 1 MG M3 (yours truly) plus 1 BSM M5, 1 blue 428i, 1 BSM 750i and 2 silver 528i. Technically that is a 1:2 on the F8X (interesting how the only M4 was AW and both M3 were not).

Don't shoot the messenger (or crush his raisins) I am just reporting the facts!!!

Lups I owe you $2 for the "ambulance picture" since I wasn't able to show it at the presentation but the owner of the AW M4 definitely saw it and laughed throughout the presentation while getting taunted by the owner of the YMB M3.

Regarding after hours emergencies; I truly don't mind getting a 2:00am call when someone is bleeding or in pain after a surgery but somehow it's usually not those patients that call!!! Typically it's a 2:00am call after the hygienist did a cleaning and the pain is unbearable (maybe floss between cleanings and take the Advil I told you too!!!) or OMG doctor I have a broken tooth that is killing me (which has been like that for 3 months!!!)... Here is the kicker, most of us don't charge for after hour phone calls!!!

Now don't make me post the pictures of someone's mouth getting really "screwed"!!!b

This poll is mainly concerned about the color of the F8x's since we already know that white is the most popular color of BMW's (and all cars in general). So if i'm following correctly (and to clarify for Lups, since I know she will try to distract us with irrelevant numbers), there were 3 F8x's and only one was white. In other words, 2 out of 3 F8x driving dentists in south Florida prefer non-white paintjobs.

I live smack in the middle of a major metropolitan city, have never owned or even considered a sweater vest (I mean talk about a fashion faux pas), only drink single malt 12 years or older and have no soul!!!

And as "particular" as my sense of style might be, very deep beneath the scrubs and preppie golf clothing I do have one!!! I think... Kinda? $h!t now I am doubting myself!!!

I owe you the business tip though but because I am too greedy and need to be compensated for the free late night "emergency" phone calls...

I think you deserve to keep your money for doing this excellent research for us, it does appear I've been mildly prejudice towards you all, but we can blame that on wah.

I don't know how you guys do it. I would have zero patience with an idiot waking me up for not following given instructions. Real pain is different but we patience tend to be a bit sad.

Once again I was agreeing with you all the way, and then you had to mention golf. Why ruin the cool image Miula? Why? Golf is like being married to a super model, and having a mistress that's twice as old, grumpy and no teeth. Some things can not be mentioned in public.

One thing I have leared from 15 years of litigation is that dentists are among the worst investors known to man. They confuse the ability to run a lucrative practice in a formulaic setting (really, a dental office is a dental office is a dental office) with being 'savvy' small businessmen. They end up with extra capital after paying off their 6,500 sq foot exurban McMansions then, if they don't get into cocaine and mistresses, they get bored so they invest in restaurants or fishing camps or vineyards or junior resource companies or whatever, which inevitably all go tits up in no time because the dentists really have no idea about business and don't understand that they make good livings because they are in a protected cartel controlled industry.

Doctors and lawyers are almost as bad, but most lawyers are risk adverse so are too chicken shit to throw money into businesses....except the ones who do high end M&A work, but they are usually smart enough to leave law and just go into business to make the real money.

Long story short, if anyone ever asks you to invest in a small business with a dentist just burn your money and hit yourself in the face with a wrench, it will be a better experience.

No, my dental ambulance joke wasn't directed at the colour of wah's car. It was in the context of our discussing 'bimmerpost: the movie' which I said should be redo of Cannonball Run. As you know (because you did watch it, right?) Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise do their race in an ambulance to avoid scrutiny from the police (which was, in fact, the type of vehicle used by 2 of the actual participants in the real life cannonball in 1979) Since we had agreed Wah was going to play same character as Burt in the movie I figured he would drive an ambulance....but as he is a dentist, I dubbed it the 'dental ambulance'

you are the one that made the connection with the boring-ass car colour he chose (which was a good connection, I concede).
