19/20 wheel combo

Hey there,

So, the 19/20 wheel combo, BMW did, why did they do it, would you do it?

I'm about to order new wheels and was going to go back to 19's all-round but here in Oz the 295 options in 19's are poor so I thought I'll do the 19/20 combo as the 265 options in 19's here are decent. Then I started to look at the weights of tyres etc and I'm rethinking and leaning towards 20's all-round again.... first world issues!

If you were to order wheels now would you consider the 19/20 combo?

IMO, it really depends on the style of wheel. Concave wheels which have spokes that go to the edge work better for 19/20. If it's a 2-piece/3-piece wheel, then 20" all around. A 2 or 3-piece 19" looks too small when it's next to a 20".

I like my 19/20 set up. Here are some pics.

Thank you both, I chickened out and went 20's, looked at weights etc and there was more difference in the tyres that wheels which made the 19's overall heavier so bugger it. I've been living with 20's for the past two years so what the hell. I have the stock 19's for track tyres if need be.
