I looked back at my docs and it was $67k agreed value and 15% deductible (highest offered at the time, in mid 2016). I picked highest deductible because I was insuring against completely writing off the car, not a “minor” (sub $10k) off
Maybe pricing has changed since then for f80 but in mid 2017 when I did a 1 off insurance for my 911 with similar terms it was similar premium. I switched to tracking SM in late 2017 so I never checked HPDE insurance pricing again. |

Ahh hmm, that seems high, I would try running a few others Hagerty, OpenTrack , etc. There's a ton of options out there to shop around. I personally don't run any except for trips to specific tracks.

I looked around for fun and seems like it is around $400-$600 to cover $65k worth of car. (I guess a 2015 f80 can be a low $40k car these days so maybe lowering the agreed value is a good lever to pull to get the premium down) Maybe some event organizer and track combos have better rates than others as well. |

Anyone running the RE-71R in 285/30R18 on a 18x11? Couldn't find any posts declaring it a workable combination. I've had great success in the past stretching 200tw tires, but I have zero experience with the RE-71R.

Since no one else has replied, I have RE71s 285/30/18s on 513 rears, so 10” wide.
I’m not sure how those tires would would look stretched on 11” wide rims, but if you do it please post some pix. Offset on the rim is a big deal, so let us know the spacing.

Don't care how the wheel looks visually, just want it to mount and seat safely. Tirerack states a 10.5" maximum rim width.
Revised my google search and found some discussions on the Corvette forums, sounds like they stretch fine on an 11" wheel. |

Same here. Summit just rescheduled all May events to September. In my mind, I've crossed off June, and hope I'm wrong.

Local track is opening up end of the month, but I don't think there are any club events scheduled in May. Maybe June unless Colorado shuts back down.

It’s going to be a long spring maybe summer without tracks being open.
I got stopped by a cop while I was slaloming some cones in a road construction zone this morning, he flashed his lights and waived me on.

I get blasted with Ka band pretty much every time I take my gas car out these days. LEOs everywhere and not much traffic, so the foot tall wing on my car must be an obvious target |

Yeah a big ass wing won’t help a thing when your stopped by a LEO.
Funny thing was this is an 8 lane street, 4 lanes each way, people are driving all over this thing because it’s not clear what’s to be driven on and what’s off limits. People rubbing on cones that are 3’ or 4’ high. I made a clean pass.

Slowly getting back to normal out here in California. Been a few events recently (Willow Springs) and May looks like a relatively normal calendar coming back.
NY/NJ hit a lot harder than CA. |

I forgot which organizer, opentrack or speedventures, but driver meetings and downloads were done on Zoom. They offered instruction, but I don't see how that's possible unless you track a limo and the instructor is in the back with the partition closed.
