Android Spotify BMW App Issue

Hey guys, I have a Nexus 6P and on my previous M4 (ya, ya ), Spotify would show up just fine as a BMW App on my iDrive, However I've had no luck with the latest version of Spotify connected to my iDrive on my Nexus 6P Marshmallow.

Anyone else experienced this and what did you do to fix it?

within the last week I've been having issue connecting my iphone spotify app via bluetooth to stream music too. It would show connected but there would be no sound. Plugging it in via usb it would work.

Yes but BT is different. I'm talking about the Spotify BMW app that shows up on iDrive when you plug in the cable..

so there is no one else using spotify on Android as a BMW App with iDrive ??

I have a 6p as well. If I remember I'll give it a shot tonight and see what happens.

Can I do this with my Samsung S6? I use spotify all the time but through the BT.

I can control my music with the steering controls. but it does have some irritating quirks. When I turn the car off with spotify active it reactivates when i get back in but doesn't show the new track info, stays stuck on the old track info until I manually select a new track on my phone.

Bad News Guys :

/QUOTE

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the reports you sent us. We’ve merged them all here and have an update to share with you on the matter.

We received confirmation that the BMW Connected Drive feature has been depreciated. As a result, it’ll no longer be possible to control Spotify via the onboard BMW system. You can however still enjoy your favorite music by connecting to your car’s audio system via Bluetooth.

We also have marked this Idea about bringing back the integration as open for voting. If this is something you would like to see make a return in the future, make sure to leave your vote there and subscribe to the idea. We’ll be monitoring it to pass the feedback on to the right team and keep you posted there, as soon as we have something to share.

To ensure we have one single place to gather feedback from, we'll be closing this thread for replies.

Drive safely!

You have to downgrade your spotify version to 8.4.96.953 https://www.apkhere.com/down/com.spo....4.96.953_free

Also give AndroidAutoIdrive a try (supports Spotify and other media apps): https://github.com/hufman/AndroidAutoIdrive
