I asked if I could just take the non-English one because my delivery is at 11:40 AM and they said they cannot do that because of insurance reasons

So either I move my date or I miss the tour.
I think I read that somewhere on the forum. When I requested my ED dates I thought the factory was open, but the error on their website left off the August dates.

If you round trip from Munich or leave from Munich you could always do it on the the end of your trip, which is another option I am considering.

Anyone here ever done the Regensburg or Dingolfing tours? I'd be up for a day trip for one of those if there are other activities along the way that my wife would enjoy.

Great idea for a thread. I see there are folks who already have confirmed pick up dates for the end of September. Is BMW able to give a production number this far out in advance? I'm getting conflicting messages from the CA's I have been talking to. I'm looking at Euro delivery for 9/24 9/25 or 9/28, but the CA's I've spoken to have just ordered me a car in 047 status and said they would get back to me with confirmed dates once things get closer to delivery time. Should I be pushing harder to get a late September confirmation this far in advance?

I don't have a production date but I do have a confirmed pickup date. Your CA should easily be able to give you a firm pickup date.

They will confirm your date, the production wont get scheduled for a while. They typically shoot to have ED cars done about 2 weeks prior (give or take) and not to worry. ED takes the highest priority once you have confirmed dates.

Nobody wants a customer to pick up a car that is not finished. (Gung Ho Movie)

It depends on your schedule. I haven't looked that far into it yet in regards to scheduling a tour.

Thanks for the replies. I will reach out to the CA's today about my delivery dates. In general, how soon after you placed your order did you get a confirmed delivery date?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but Status 047 is just order taken - i.e. an allocation has not been given to the customer, correct?

I am in the exact same position with a CA submitting a request for ED dates and have an order at Status 047, but I know for a fact he did not get any allocations this month. I am extremely concerned I will not be able to meet my mid September date if we have to wait until next month's allocations are released. Am I over reacting? Should we be hunting down another dealer for an allocation?

You are correct. 047 simply means your order has been put into the system, but there is no allocation or production number attached to it.

Personally, I would be looking for another dealer if I had a firm travel date needed of September. I sent an alarmed email to my CA when he didn't have an allocation for me in early January, and my delivery needed to be for May.

There may be more than enough time, but I prefer to play it conservative.

I would tell your CA of your concerns and see if he can manage a trade, but if you can find an allocation elsewhere, I wouldn't hesitate to consider it. Especially if you have hard dates.

I'm a 9/24 confirmed delivery and I have a production number, so they're definitely being given.

047 status sounds like your dealer doesn't have an allocation and is wasting your time because of it. I'd find another dealer.

My CA says that PCD deliveries can't be given an ED pickup date yet because BMW is waiting on EPA regulations.

Why would PCD be any different than dealer pickup?

That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

The EPA is not specific to Greer South Carolina. Are you sure you heard him correctly? PCD is similar to a dealer delivery in that they get your car then they schedule you to come in (equivalent of your CA calling to come get it) If there is a problem with a federal agency - it never makes it past customs...

It has zero to do with ED.

This happens all the time. "New" model year cars (i.e. first batch from the newest model year) have to get EPA-certified, which means they're basically held up in customs for an indeterminate amount of time. It does happen to dealer pick up cars as well.

I'm 100% with you. It doesn't make sense to me either. There was nothing to mishear, it was written down. And this guy seems to know his stuff as he's being used by quite a few others on this forum. I'll just assume the CA wrote me in a rush but I've replied asking him to confirm.

Thank you.... will keep pushing until I get a production number. My understanding is that once it's given, the CA can then submit a request form to BMW for dates, and then that request is fulfilled within 7-10 days. Without an allocation, a dealership can't do any of that. I had a dealership give me a production number but then tell me he was going to re-assign me a later one since my desired pick up isn't until late September.

I'm glad this forum is around to help keep buyers well informed as it seems that a lot of dealerships are either dishonest or simply not as knowledgeable as they should be about this process.

Sorry for the thread derailment

What the difference between 111 (order accepted at BMW AG) and 112 status (order scheduled for production)? Mine's been hanging out in 111 for a while according to the screenshots I've seen, and my CA gave me a date of week 30, but I've seen many other people post with 112 status. Although when I call the 800 number I get "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date".

Are you dealing with Adrian in South Atlanta? If you are, then I believe him - he knows his stuff.

What doesn't make sense, PCD takes about 2-3 weeks longer than dealer delivery after ED and as you have heard some folks have confirmed their ED dates for 2016 models.
