How to switch to next track in iDrive 5.0
Guys, when I am playing a track from my MP3 USB Stick, I have Shuffle Mode on, but if I use the scroll wheel on the steering wheel, it just shows the next track on the HUD in order list, so what I am having to do is to press the next button on the right of the center console to switch to the next shuffled track. Is there a way to do this from the steering wheel controls?

I've said it over 3 times already.......that's not what I want....
you know the PREVIOUS/NEXT button located on the right of the center console? when you press the next button, it plays the next track in shuffled order. If I want to select a track from the list as you are saying, that just displays them in alphabetical order not in a shuffled manner as I want to switch so it doesn't serve my purpose! |

I use random mode a lot . I have not found a way and its annoying. the < > buttons are way on the other side. I also hate the audio controls are on the right side of the wheel . hahaaaha.

But I have dude, I already got 3 suggestions to do the same thing which doesn't work. People can at least read the posts mentioned before replying it. Didn't mean to be rude.

I see what he is saying now. I don't think there is a way other then buttons.
OTOH this track/volume/albums switching is pissing me off. Was this change done to "change" something? Every car including older BMWs have this on left of wheel. Same with buttons on radio. Wonder why they didn't move prev/next buttons into glove box for example??? Even without shuffle switching to NEXT track is super-dangerous now. This tiny scroll wheel is never precise, you need to roll and click it. Often can cause jump on track. Was MUCH easier with 2 buttons on a wheel to quickly skip a track. Now I find myself using iDrive joystick to change tracks. And it takes eyes of the road. So, what is the improvement?? |

Just Tried this on a 2017 X5 with i5. Pushing down and holding on the center wheel or in any direction does not seem to do anything. Was anyone able to get this to work? *Edit*. has anyone changed their layout to the iDrive 6 lite? do you get the next/back buttons for Shuffle tracks from a USB.
