PCD Question re Family

My fellow (former) F80 cohorts:

My father will be taking delivery of an M550i during PCD coming up (has been waiting his whole life to buy a new BMW and although he was heartbroken about the ED situation due to COVID, he is stoked for the Performance Center Delivery). Given that the F80 forum is the most active regarding ED and PCD, thought I'd post the question here after hours of searching on all the sub forums and coming up with no luck.

My wife and I want to attend his delivery with my mother to be able to share the experience. While we know PCD (especially the on track stuff) is only for 2 people, I wanted to ask the group whether they have any experience bringing more than 2 people for PCD?

My wife and I would love to be able to join the other aspects of the experience (and observe them during the on track and off road events). Does anybody have any first hand experience as to whether this is possible? His CA is unsure and for obvious reasons the PC is closed over the weekend and we need to decide on a pick up date by Monday.

Any help would be great!

Check the paperwork from PC. I seem to remember it saying there is no room for anyone except one other person, but may just be remembering the hotel accommodations. They are definitely pretty anal about liability. He should be able to reach them on Monday. They were very responsive when I was arranging delivery. I went with my wife and don’t recall any parties of more than 2 people.

I was looking for something else and coincidentally stumbled across this thread. I didn’t go through it but maybe there is some more info here:

I found an email that was sent to my client advisor (in 2018) from the Performance Center. It says there are no exceptions for additional guests. It seems like additional guests could sit in the cafe (they have burgers/sandwiches) but that's it...you can't see much of the track activities from there.

Please note and advise your customer of the following information:

ˇ The delivery program is designed for the owner and one guest; additional guests cannot be accommodated, NO EXCEPTIONS.

ˇ Child care services are not available. If a client brings a guest under the age of 12, He/ She will be required to accompany them in our café and will not be able to participate in the BMW factory tour or any driving activities during the day.

ˇ Pets are not allowed at the BMW Performance Center or the Greenville Marriott.

I checked into this several years ago and it was made clear to me the experience was for 2 people.

I went with my older brother and my wife (not as much of a car nut) stayed at the hotel.

Have fun!

By the way, do a tour at Welt and rent an m5 and you will have gotten 90% of the experience, and the only things missing will be the sausages in the customer lounge and walking down to the rotating platform.

Hey Thescout13 when is your father doing his PCD? I'm waiting for a late September PCD date and it's only me.

I'm glad that I decided to ditch ED this go around, as I highly doubt any NA sunset delivers will occur due to the COVID German travel restrictions now through the end of August. My current build was cancelled by BMWNA last month during the "great purge" of status 111/112, but I was e-mailed this week that my F83 ZCP is at now status 150, but has a different production number. Weird stuff going on due to COVID, as I was going to wait for a 2021 G83 otherwise.

Hey - it's August 12 as of right now. His car was just assembled and on the way to the port. Going to be a good time I hope. He got to do ED with me last year for the M2C so I am happy he got to experience that with me. He was supposed to do ED for this car, but because of COVID and the fact that he is in the at risk age range, he didn't want to risk it.

Smart move, as I'm not even traveling this summer to Ibiza. So much flux with the airlines, as first Delta cancelled my 1st 2 flights two months ago, called them up and was rebooked with a 7hr layover in ATL. 2 weeks ago KLM cancelled my 2 intra-Europe flights, at this point I got the message to stay home, as my next option would had been 4 flights from CHS-ATL-JFK-AMS-IBZ—not worth it with all the restrictions and the clubs are closed this year, all the big name DJ's have pulled out.
