Horn stopped working

Hey all,

I just noticed that the horn no longer works. I removed the passenger kick panel but the fuse I've seen in some videos is not there. Any ideas? I'm wondering if it's location differs depending on the MY.

TIA

The horns are known to fail. There are two. One on each side of the bumper - can be accessed through the wheel well if you pull off the fender liner. I'd bet you had only one working before, and then second one finally failed. But could also be a fuse if you've recently replaced the horns.

Pretty sure I'd notice if one failed since the tone would be different. I really want to check the fuse....if I can find it.

I’ll have to verify when I get a chance but I know for the F30, the horns were directly connected to the FEM after the LCI. Probably the same with the F80.

My horn went out a few days ago as well. I opened the fuse box in the front passenger footwell and there is no fuse for #14 - Fanfare.

Did anyone figure out where the horn fuse is?

Sounds like some cars do not have a fuse in #14, anyone know why?

Fuse was removed after the LCI.

No fix. Just replace the horns.

It's frustrating when the horn stops working, isn't it? It's possible that the fuse location might vary depending on the model year. Have you considered checking out resources on bosshorn.com? They might have some helpful tips or even alternative horn options to explore while troubleshooting the issue.

welcome to owning a BMW

lucky its not your water pump when you are out on the road

or a window regulator slams your window open in snow or freezing weather

or your steering lock fails and your car gets stuck in a underground parking garage with elevator with lifts and no steering control
