Leather ruined!?

Please help. My son left the front passenger window open and now my seat visibly shows area of Major Discolored circles. It is very soaked and messed up. Should I take it to
The BMW dealer? Also I can even tell
If my speakers are messed up since water got into them and they're the H/K :

Wow. That's terrible. Sorry you have to deal with this. Did you by chance get any additional coverage for the interior? Maybe your auto policy would cover this? Looks expensive, keep us updated.

Will do. Just found this and it ruined my whole
Mood. Don't know what to do, probably will ask my dealer.

Dealer won't know, file a comprehensive claim with your insurance company, then pay your deductible, that's why we have insurance. No big deal and will not affect your rates! Have fun they'll cover it all.

On it right now

How long was the water on the leather before you wiped it off?

I think the window was open for a week plus and showers were in and out. So sadly this is a huge mistake as the water has been on the lather and obviously sat on it for a while.

Holy shit man. At this point I'd be worried about more than just the leather. There's electronics and connectors in there that may start to corrode with all that moisture.

Yes. The car thinks there is a passenger and the seat belt warning keeps going off while I drive (yes I have my seatbelt on while it goes off and no there aren't any other passengers besides me) I tried to upload the video but no luck in that too.

Leather ruined?

Thought I post it here since it seems everyone views the general discussions more...anyways Please help. My son left the front passenger window open and now my seat visibly shows area of Major Discolored circles. It is very soaked and messed up. Should I take it to

The car had its window open for a week plus with in and out showers. When driving the car, the car thought there was a passenger when there wasn't and the seat belt warning kept going off. (Yes I had my seatbelt on).

Anyone can recommend professionals that can return my leather to prestige condition? I'm in the Bronx but willing to travel a bit if its absolutely worth it. Should I call BMW North America?

I've done this once too. Do not kill the son, his mom still loves him.

Assuming it's 100% dry looks like you at SOL but I'm no expert so you should talk with an upholstery shop that works with leather to see if they can restore it

wow, that's a long time to have water in the car. at the very least, the seating occupancy sensors are damaged. it's very likely there's other damage too. i'd be really particular about who i let do the insurance repair, because the extent of the damage is really unknown. it'll take a real BMW expert to chase out and test/fix all of the potential issues.

off the top of my head, heated seats, lit seat emblems, door and dash speakers, window motors, seatbelt pyrotechnic connections, steering wheel button/functions and control stalks, obd port, side airbag connections, door mirror functions, puddle lights (bottom of door)...

hopefully there was not significant water on the center console or the middle of the dash. if there was, the list of things to check will increase exponentially.

I thought this was the mom that was posting...

OP, that looks like water soaked in under leather, got soaked up by the untreated underside, dried, got wet again, and repeat for a week. You might be able to get the stains out, but I don't think you can smooth out the leather. You may just have to get new seat covers.

And yeah, whatever else got damaged underneath. Good luck.

While you may be upset, I'm mad at you for not driving your car for a week! C'mon man! Don't let it sit!

Just kidding! That's a lot of damage. Hope you get some of it cleaned up. One thing is for sure, that car will never be the same.
