I'll do it for you..."what an asshole"! Since you are to kind to label the bastard.

That really sucks, hope it comes out perfect for you, looks like it might not be to bad, these body shops can do wonders with the tools and paint supplies. SO is such a beautiful color too!

I pity the guy I walk up on doing the same to me, I won't bother calling the cops but he might wish I did.

Good luck brother, hope she looks like new when done.

Had that happen with my 535 in an IKEA parking lot, seven foot long scratch. They reshot the whole side of the car. After that, put in 2ch dashcam. Won't stop them from doing it but at least you can find the the scumbag that did it.

Sorry brother. Had it happen to my vette two years ago. They went twice around the car completely and deep. Some people just are shit. Since then, dash cams. Won't stop them but can't stop enjoying nice things because of others. Good luck.

You could probably make it look better by polishing, but you're going to have to remove a lot of the surrounding paint. And it will most likey still be visible. If you want to roll down to The Villages, we could give it a try.

As much as it sucks OP, the perpetrator will face the consequences one way or the other... especially if they could muster up the courage to do despicable things like this. Best of luck with the restoration.

Fuck! I've had several nice cars keyed and vandalized here in Jax. One time, I had my Evo keyed and three tires slashed in one night at my condo in San Marco. I was fucking beyond pissed. Just moved to 220 Riverside and I'm hoping people stay away from my shit in that parking garage.

There are some real asshats here in Jax.

No, no, no! That is soooo horrible to see. So sorry that happened.

It'll cost a little, be an inconvenience but will get fixed.

No guarantees it would have helped, but maybe consider a two channel dash/rear cam. Blackvue 6500. Maybe it would have caught them on video.

Sorry to hear. some folks are just full of hate and jealousy. Can't stop us from enjoying our cars but feel bad for you and the headache you now will go through to get it fixed and be without your car while it is getting painted. Best is perhaps to first take it to a detailed and see if they can buff it out. If not then a body shop. But if you can feel the metal them it most likely is a body shop job. Good luck with the insurance.

So I work in the industry. That will have to be repainted. It will cost significant money because you must remove all trim so you can do full clear coat on each panel after repair. That's the only correct way to repair the vehicle. It'll go in as vandalism on your comprehensive coverage and if you file a police report it will be non-surchargable.

Insurance will probably pay out around ~2,500 total to fix it if it's 1/4 all the way into fender. Part of that will be blending paint onto adjacent panels so they all match perfectly.

Edit: On second thought the door doesn't look awful. Can you run your finder through the scracth on the door?

Good indicator of whether you can get something out is if you can feel it with your finger. If you can feel the scratch its probably going to need to be resprayed.
