Ceramic coated mine. Just give them a good power wash and they are clean again. Only wash them with soap after 3 car washes.

Agreed that SONAX and a power washer is the easiest way I've found so far. I do plan on coating them at some point too, I just haven't had a good enough reason to pull them off the car so I can coat the inside of the wheels.

I use this to clean my rims. Super easy and fast. I don't like to use any type of chemical rim cleaner.

I use p21s wheel cleaner and the soft sponges you can buy at any grocery/home store to get into the smaller spaces. They conform very well and fit in the tight space between the caliper and barrel. The kind without an abrasive side, of course. The p21s comes with a nice sponge for the face of the wheel, but I have been using the cheap kitchen sponges for years. Worked great on my past style 68 and 135

I just placed an order for the Kamikaze Stance Rim Coat wheel kit, with he Gyeon Iron and Prep.

going to do it this weekend if I can find a decent price on a floor jack so I can remove the wheels.

will provide feedback on this.

I just did this, the Gyeon product is phenomenal. I found that the Kamikaze Stance Rim Coat went on very easily, more than enough for two coats. it goes on so easily that you need to be careful, you can use too much. I have the 666 Black wheel and I don't like it at all. That's just a personal preference, most love their 666 Black. I am going to get mine sandblasted to remove the black paint and then clear coat powdercoated.

Get your wheels ceramic coated. Then just spray your hose at it and watch the brake dust just melt away.

I hope that I don't crash this site quoting myself......... I recently had Winter Tires fitted to my 666's. I removed the wheels this weekend in an attempt to remove the residue left by the old wheel weights (original wheel weights removed by the tire installer prior to balancing). What a pain in the ass, if you're careful not to scratch your wheel, you want to use 3M Adhesive Remover - I was royally high on the fumes by the time I had done all four wheels. At this point I said "fuck it", my wheels are off, so I took my Flex Random Orbiter and using the most abrasive Machine Polish in my collection polished my wheels, inside and out. This step most likely removed my Kamikaze Stance Rim Coat, but now I have an excuse to remove my wheels again and re-coat them.......way cheaper than my Psychiatrist at $300 per hour. (FYI - I have replaced psychotherapy with detailing, I have come to accept that I am an OCD asshole, nuff said!) But my wheels look great, though I think that this has to be the biggest PITA wheel to clean ever, I've had a lot of BMW's, but even my 1995 325i with the BMW honeycomb rim was not as difficult as this wheel to clean. I would love to see what a 20 inch 359 BMW wheel looks like on these cars, my sense it would look great, and it's the biggest thing I miss about my E92 M3, apart from the sound of the MPE - this new M4 sounds like a Honda Accord, don't get me started.

IMO, they are a pain in the ass to clean...but best looking stock wheel offered for the F8X I've seen IRL (haven't seen the CS wheels in person yet).

I have a 5 y/o that always wants to help detail, but I never want to let her touch the paint. Now that I have the 666's on my F80, I give her a microfiber cloth after the wash and the wheels keep her busy while I do the rest of the car.

These wheels are very intricate so if you want to clean them properly it will take time. It usually takes me an hour to clean all 4 wheels. If you have the black ones it will take a little longer since black shows everything. I made a video showing my wheel cleaning process on my friends M3. Hope this helps!

1 hour for wheels seems excessive. They get dirty 5 mins after driving.

How much time you want to spend cleaning is definitely a personal preference. I have found that the cleaner I get the wheels the longer they stay clean. I also spray them with a detail spray which helps. I could probably dramatically cut my wheel cleaning time if I coat them with something like Gyeon Rim which I'm thinking about trying.

Yea I understand. That's why I went with black wheels. They tend to look less dirty over time. That being said Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus, a few minutes of brushing and a thorough hosing tends to satisfy my expectations.

Every single set of comp wheels that come in gets coated with modesta bc06. It doesn't get any easier to clean them than after coating.

You are right, 1 hour is about the average it would take us to clean them without coating, but after coating, about 15 minutes.

we find the a wheel woolie, a MF towel and a 1" brush are the best uses for these wheels.
These items can be found at Detailed image, which is where we get all our own supplies.

I wasn't sure if coating was going to make a big difference, but after hearing your experience with coated comp wheels I'm going to try it out. Cutting my wheel washing process down to 15 minutes would be great! Do you still use a wheel cleaner with the coated wheels?

What is the 15 minute cleaning process for the wheels? It would be great to get the time down to that.

My wheels are ceramic coated and it takes me just under an hour to do a full clean (face, spokes, inner lip, barrels, and calipers).

An in-between wash is a lot quicker since all I do is spray with wheel cleaner and then rinse with pressure washer. That's about a 15 minute ordeal (most of the time is waiting for the wheel cleaner to change color).

Takes more time than washing the damn car.

I washed My car for the 1st time today and what a pita to clean the wheel, took me 1 1/2 hrs to clean all of them to my satisfaction but the largest wheel woolie was completely useless, I used the other 2 to clean the wheels, once cleaned looks sparkless. Next time Wil use sonax and will not spend so much time on them. Couldn't get to wax the car as the whole process tool 3 hrs and was completely exhausted

I just applied Kamikaze Rim Coat to mine....have yet to drive the car enough to get the rims dirty and wash them.
