back on topic tho... I almost bought a '19 802a Raptor right before I found my f80 zcp, no regrets so far and way easier to park, not as easy to drive out to rural BLM areas to sight in our other 'toys' especially up here in the forbidden Bay Area ..... pew-pew

Those of you with Raptors, what fuel mileage are you getting roughly? And are you using regular or premium fuel? I've seen numbers all over the place. The day I rented one I only averaged 12mpg and the owner said I don't need to use premium, just fill it up with regular. Having seen on the Raptor forums premium is definitely recommended. Curious what you guys have seen.

Yeah he'll probably have to move over here to AZ soon. We got Cali right wing refugees coming over in bus loads (literally).

I'm getting about 14.5mpg, just a little over 2K miles on it. So maybe still breaking in the engine. I've been putting in 89 octane mostly.

But, you don't buy a Raptor for the gas mileage. You buy it for its utility and comfort. Just last evening, there was a bunch of cars (probably from California) clogging up the lanes at a stop light preventing me from getting into the left turn lane. When the green arrow lit up I just casually drove over the medium curbing to get to the turn lane. I was able to get my beer 30 seconds sooner just because of the Raptor.

Well, I’m tuned, and I drive it like the M3, so I’m probably not the guy to ask. But I’m getting about 13. 2600 miles. I hear they improve a bit after about 6000 miles. I do use premium. IMO, there is no point buying a vehicle with an HO turbo engine and then retarding the timing and boost on it with regular. Even more so if you care enough to tune it.

Yeah, I’ll be leaving Cali in the next few years. Probably heading for Tennessee or North Carolina.

Not the same thing I know, but I get 18-19 with my 19 3.5 Ecoboost Platinum F-150 with mixed city/highway driving.

Yeah I understand the MPG isn't a main factor of the truck but it is a consideration. I did notice the truck I had rented and run on regular was not all that impressive on its standard fuel. It also had a lift and larger wheels and tires which I'm sure didn't help. Absolutely loved the thing. Such a shame they don't lease well. Should lease amazing given how well they hold their value.
