Washing engine bay with open intake

I was thinking of washing my engine bay since its very dirty. I have bms open engine intakes. Is it fine to wash the engine bay with these intakes on as they are not covered. Thanks

I would just put a plastic bag on the intake, you don't want water being sucked into the engine.
