Front Wheel Bearing Replacement - Reuse Hub
Searched around and no luck with this.
Seems for the front bearings, most folks just replace the whole hub/bearing assembly. Found several videos and references for this. For the rears, I've found info on keeping the hub and simply replacing the bearing. Or, as with the front, simply replacing the whole assembly. What I'd like is to replace the bearing on the front, but to keep my hub. Reason for this is that I have Core4 hubs front and rear machined for press in studs and I'd like to keep these. Is there a part # for just the front bearing? Is there difficulty in just replacing the bearing on the front which is why I've found no reference for it? Thanks Last edited by MaX PL; 11-09-2024 at 08:13 PM.. |

Not sure what you mean by installed.
I imagine Core4 purchases the OEM hub/bearing assembly and machines the stud openings. Unless it's a different hub/bearing assembly altogether which they still likely machine in house. I guess I'll call Core4 and ask if they can source just the bearing for me, or just get me the part # off of the actual bearing. |

Spoke with Core4.
Apparently the front assemblies are set with a certain bearing preload when assembled, and due to this, they are packaged as one unit, and you cannot purchase the bearing separately. Guess I’ll buy an entire assembly for the rear as well rather than trying to muscle the bearing from the hub. Last edited by MaX PL; 11-11-2024 at 01:56 PM.. |
