F80 Regrets? No Way!
I recently had gone fishing with a friend on his fairly new (2 years old) center consoled boat. We had a blast and actually caught some fish with other friends too.
He later shared some of the cons that were associated with the boat and found it had not been what he thought it would be. At some point the conversation turned and he asked me a leading question of "Are you tired of the M3 yet?" as if it was an inevitability. My immediate response was "F*@# No! I enjoy the car every time I get into it, and especially enjoy it when Auto Crossing or pushing the limits. I'm actually thinking about getting a prayer rug for it!!" I told him I was kidding, I didn't really like to Autocross. He just stared for a minute. The friend is also my Pastor... who should've bought that convertible he has always wanted.

Yup totally get that feeling...a boat would be fun and I know people have all sorts of expensive hobbies that they can only get to use from time to time...my M3 is something I can use and enjoy everyday!

There are only two types of boat owners: Those that regret it, and those who will regret it.

It wouldn't be heaven if there aren't any.

The two above are spot on. My father always said bust out another thousand constantly and after 2/3 years of ownership, they sold their boat. They didn’t regret it since they didn’t lose much on the value of the boat once they sold. Fun experiences but it was a hassle and expensive.
I do love other people’s boats. I don’t spend a dollar and I don’t do shit except sit back, relax, and enjoy the cervezas and sunrays. |

I have no regrets on my 2017 M3, nor do I have any on my 2017 wakesurf boat. We put on close to 500 hours between 2-3 boats each summer season.
Its funny that people still think boats are expensive to maintain/operate. Boats are as simple as they get. Most of what you see out there are standard 5.7s with some added bits. I wrench on my own boats without any issues. The breaking out another thousand part is if you purchase the wrong type of boat at the wrong price. Most towboats these days depreciate like gt3's. Most cabin cruisers and casual bowriders depreciate like normal cars. I still have yet to lose any money in owning used and new wakeboats over the last 5 years, the same absolutely cannot be said for any BMWs I've owned in the same period of time lol. |

Personally when it comes to boats, planes, vacation homes, etc... I would much rather be friends with the owners and rent or borrow from them. I get to enjoy them and walk away with none of the headaches. |

No regrets on mine. I love the car and have enjoyed all of the 31k miles in the last two years.
That said I don't like how fast these cars depreciate. Maybe next time I'd buy used. Not sure. : My 17ZCP was $78k sticker, paid $71k, current trade value only about $50k. Private party sale would get me higher value but lose tax benefits of trade-in. |

It's actually great advice, and one of my favorite lines from Ballers.

I don't regret the loaded, individual F80, the DCT, the euro delivery, the depreciation (yet ) or the feeling I get when the road gets twisty and clear! 2 years in and still love it - no other 4-door I would replace it with.
