Post 18x11" test fitment volunteer needed

UPDATE:

We are now looking for a local volunteer who would like to help us confirm if the 19" APEX wheels can clear CCB's. The Goal is to develop a 19x11" rear fitment for track use. We need to confirm clearance of our front fitments that would pair with the new 11" rear. This information would be used to modify the wheel's design if necessary for clearance.

We'd need a car for at least 2 hours at our facility to properly test, measure, and document everything. You can hangout with us, or use our lobby and office space to conduct your work.

If you're willing to bring your car out to our R&D center and studio in Livermore CA 94550, please contact us at testfitments@apexraceparts.com

Your participation will allow us to share our findings with the community.

Thank you,

-Eddy Pintacsi
CEO

18" TEST COMPLETED: Thank you Robert and Tim for volunteering

We're looking for a local volunteer who would like to help us measure what offset would allow a 315 r-compound tire to fit the rear of the F8X. This would be a track oriented offset that would allow meaty tires to clear the fender properly. Our goal when by the time we're done is to pick the ideal offsets needed to produce both an 18x11" and 18x10.5" option.

To conduct this test, we will use a custom, ultra high-offset, 18x11" wheel. Combined with spacers, we can simulate all the necessary new offsets.

We will be testing the wheel with the following 3 tires:

295/35/18 Rival
305/35/18 R888
315/30/18 R888

We'd need a car for at least 5 hours at our facility to properly test, measure, and document everything. You can hangout with us, or use our lobby and office space to conduct your work.

That's a great point to bring up.

For the 18" test we can only test on cars with steel brakes. But we want to test our 19's over the carbon brakes to see if we could mimic the new offsets for a 19" track setup. Ideally both would be an option.

I'll put it this way, as soon as you have a CCB friendly 19x11, I will place an order. No hesitation.

As for rear offsets, I would start around +40, for the 19x11

Sadly I am way too far to help you out, but I am so looking forward to those wheels

I am currently running a square EC-7 18x10ET25 setup and feel I need more tire and wheel in the back.

Please consider testing on both the M3 and M4, as the M3 has slightly wider rear fenders by 3mm.

This! I would love it if you guys made 19" wheels that clear ccb's. Even if they are 19x10.5 rears I'm in.

Yes, this would be the EC-7 design, as we designed that wheel with the best barrel clearance in the 18" size.

We'll use our findings to validate a 19x11" offering

Great to know. We'll take this into consideration and do testing on both chassis.

We'll hunt for an offset that is ideal for both (split the 3mm difference)

We have an M4 coming in this Friday. If you have an M3 with steel brakes that could be great. We're located in Livermore which is about an hour from SF. We stay late all the time anyway, so we could co-ordinate something. It's a good excuse to get you dinner/beer for your efforts

Looking forward to this wheel to mount an 18x305 NT01 for the rear. Right now I am using the EC7 et 25 square setup with 275 width NT01s.

Exact same situation here. I have been waiting for an EC-7 18x11 wheel to go with the 305/35 NT01. The F8X needs more traction to fully exploit the S55 coming out of turns . I just cannot put the power down with the 275 rears .

U are lucky to even be able to run NT01's, my CCB's wont allow 18's (obviously)

Track tire options and cost are actually part of the reason I shied away from CCBs

I couldn't resist ordering them after drooling over carbon/ceramic brakes for years and years. Although there are drawbacks, I will say that I do get a grin whenever I catch a glance of the gold brakes on the car as I approach/walk away from it. Those happy grins add up over time!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered. We have an M3 and M4 coming in today for testing.

We'll post our findings next week.

We'll know enough to publicly announce dates in a week or so.

Thanks Robert and Tim for coming out.

Here's a little teaser while we work on our writeup.

Looks great except for R888 being mounted backwards. No worries for testing and not being driven in rain though.
