Ummm, have you seen love bugs? lol, They destroy your paint in 1-2 days if you don't wash them off. Plus all of the construction..

Only place you don't need the film is if your car is a garage queen.

If it were bumper, sure, but it is hood, bumper, etc.

We usually go with 3M film. Doesn't cost too much up here, lasts well, hides well too.
Yeah sure it suck up there. I bet they layed a mountain range of gravel on the roads this year after the winter u guys had. Florida defiantly has the cleanest roads of anywhere I have ever lived. Not even any dust.
Being in the northeast really is so much different. I cringe everytime I hear those little rocks hit my hood, even when I have 3M clear bra on my car. Definitely worth it IMO.

I just got mine installed today! My installer went with Premium Shield. Did the whole front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, and the side mirrors are getting done next week because Premium Shield didn't have the CAD drawings for it yet.

If anyone is in Ohio, look up Northshoretint, been working with the guy for awhile now. I only trust him with this kind of work. He did Lebron Jame's car I believe haha.

All his recent cars he's done http://instagram.com/northshoretint

I have put a clear bra on my last 4 cars. The ability to scrub the bugs off is worth it alone.... The ability to deflect the rocks to a certain degree is nice as well.

Let me just say not getting a clear bra would be a bigger mistake regardles of any reason. When I bought my '13 M3, Xpel was the only option that was worth having other than the DCT. Hands down, the best money spend. My M3 is a garage queen as well with just 3K miles on her since 12/22/12. And she looks show room new. Washing, sealing and general cleaning is so simple. I only wish BMW figure out how to reduce the brake dust off the rims. Cleaning my rims (wheels) takes twice as long as cleaning the whole car.

I've never had a clear bra on a car before. My F80 will be a daily driver. I live in North Texas but am not sure if this is worthwhile as it seems to be in northern US. Any thoughts?

I've never had it here in Oregon. I get very few chips and don't think it's worth it.

You shouldn't need it unless you drive in reverse fairly fast!

Why buy an ///M car if you are not going to drive it?

I live in Austin and stone chips are a real issue. XPEL is more than worth the money for us!

Simple answer? Because I can,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I drive it when I want to, not because it's my daily driver.

LOVEBUGS:
Both adult and immature lovebugs are considered medically harmless. However, the presence of lovebugs in large numbers can be quite a nuisance. Large numbers of lovebugs in flight over roadways can cause bug-splattered windows and clogged radiator grills. Insects splattered on windshields can obscure vision, and if the dead insects are not cleaned off promptly, they can ruin the finish on a car. Clogged radiators can cause engine overheating.

If any of you are in the Los Angeles area, contact Unique Auto Films in Tarzana. Got my cars clear bra'd and vinyl wrapped from them and their work is incredible. I am very picky when it comes to this stuff and I couldn't be any happier with their service. They are Xpel certified and clear bra for many of the higher end dealerships in Los Angeles.

I just sold my Nissan GTR and the first thing that the customer asked me over the phone was if the car had rock chips or scrapes on the front bumper. The expel clear bra really helped me sell my car. Some people drive their cars until they fall apart, and some people keep their cars in pristine condition. Thankfully, I barely got to drive my car since I work so much and have a company vehicle, but if I had a chip, I would of definitely lost the customer. I just bought the M4 and I'm definitely getting it. There are more people that are picky about paint chips than people that aren't. - and I'm talking about buyers, not people who already own the vehicle.

It might cost less to paint the front bumper but you will never match the paint and people WILL be able to tell that the bumper was repainted. I know I can ...it takes seconds.

Do you personally feel you were able to sell it for more because of the clear bra as well? Not that you necessarily were able to recover the full cost but between putting a big dent in the cost of the investment, the ability to keep it looking real nice while you own it and selling it faster I think makes PPF worth it.

Kind of, I guess. I know for a fact I would of lost him as a customer. The guy was eyeballing the car like I've never seen before. He was very meticulous. He drove the car for 20 minutes in all settings to ensure there is no unusual rattle, noise, vibration, etc. he took the car from 0-100. He tested everything. At the end, he paid me the full price I was asking for. I showed him all of the pictures of the car when it was garaged and outside with a cover in it. He wanted proof that the car was garaged. And you know what, I don't blame him. He wanted a very low mileage, flawless condition GTR and he knew I was the only one that kept it in flawless condition. He brought a computer out, believe or not, and hooked up to the OBD port and checked the data logs on the car to see how I drive the car: how agressive, what settings I drive in, when I drove last, etc. again, I don't blame him. 88k for a car is a lot of money.

Anyways, yes, that clear bra helped me sell the car for sure. It shows a buyer that you care about the car, and that you're not just throwing him or her a beat down car. When he was looking at the car, he asked me when I put the bra on the car and am pretty confident that it earned me major bonus points.

I went and got my Xpel installed by a very reputable installer that does a lot of high end cars and I know of him by word of mouth. In the end, he accidentally cut into my cf roof and now I am left to deal with how to repair it and get my money back from him.

So do your research and make sure you check over the work when you pick up the car.
