Lol at this thread. I recall something my uncle said to me a few times when I was younger "Keep the shiny side up." So far, so good.

Oh I forgot - people only buy BMWs to drive within the speed limit and flash their expensive wrist watches out the window. These cars are very fun to drive and can sometimes provoke aggressive (and dangerous) behaviors. I think this was more a matter of the driver not being experienced or educated enough on what could happen in those exact circumstances that led to the crash. I'm sure he learned his lesson and won't be trying that again. I hope he is alright and very glad to hear no one else was seriously injured or killed. Scary stuff.

Free advice to all those who are intentionally driving with DSC completely off when you know damn well what that means: please at least use DTC/MDM instead so you don't massively increase your odds of endangering the public like this driver did.

From the arm chair warrior

Perhaps an unlucky day...

Again; immature driver, inexperienced,
Reckless, selfish, irresponsible etc.

When I was younger I can check the box for, reckless and lucky.

I also ride a sport bike and there are riders who take chances or just have no clue how many things can go wrong on public roads same goes for drivers.

Some just don't know situational awareness.

Rain, traffic, debris, trying to anticipate the unexpected

I hope this person learned from this

You know the age of the people who’s comments you’re objecting to? Funny how younger folks these days seem take offense to everything except for ageism. As for the accident, anything’s possible and I don’t know the details but it is very likely this person was driving like an idiot in a residential area. Have fun , drive fast but pick your spots and don’t do it in an area where you can hurt someone else.
Not really young at 28 but sounds good

Right on Vanilla. I have young boys getting eager to drive so I'm starting to think about stuff like this. Scary
Get them to BMW teen driver education event. I think BMW performance center does that or thr CCA. They teach on track and skid pad. That's great car handling coaching plus gives the drivers insight into what happens when the car gets out it control.

Probably with the right front wheel, since they are both gone.

This is an excellent example of why everyone should have the maximum amount (it's usually $300,000) of liability coverage on their auto insurance policy, and an additional "umbrella" policy on top of that. If you don't know what I'm talking about, call your insurance agent ASAP!

Right, and the premium for an umbrella policy is damn near pennies on the dollar for the piece of mind.

Expect this to be more common, with the prices of used 2015s putting it in the range of a totally different demographic of drivers that can own these.

Still amazed as usual to see how rigid the car is to hold up to wrecks like this and the driver walks away.
