Drivetrain Malfunction scare (F83 guys)
I got a deal on some downpipes, picked them up today. I had the top down so I used the switch on the drunk to raise the folded top and I put them in, put it back down (first time I did this) stopped at a detail shop, Restarted the car and got a dreadful drivetrain malfunction. started panicking, car drove normally tho, I drove home in efficient and kept the revs low. Got home got the Carly app and started reading the codes when it was done it found 50 faults, started panicking some more. The "bad" codes were a few indicating issues with the roof, I put the top up and back down, no issues , cleared the codes and it didn't come back thank god! The other codes were minor shit that I was able to clear. Carly did report the the same was unlocked (bm3) and some other faults that wee codings I did.

Odd. I use that switch all the time, no issues. If that's the first time you've used it, maybe test it again next time you go to the dealer? That way if it barfs again, you aren't stuck with a real problem (eg top halfway up).
Cheers

Kind of scary, I did downpipes and tune on my 18' F80 and got drivetrain malfunction. It ended up being spun crankhub but the only difference is my car is stuck in limp mode even after re flashing to stock map

Aw man sorry to hear about the sch... it's always in the back of my mind. So I went out for dinner and started getting chassis stabilization errors, I cleared then and they went away, ill have to keep monitoring it, might just bad gas or software issue, I'll try diagnosing with bm3 as well

Really sad, I'm looking into preventative steps for the crank hub. Do you know what caused it to spin? Hard downshift?
