BMW calls a collection of minor bits "Competition Package", and sells it to people who 100% will-NOT be racing or competing in those M3s.

By that standard, Lexus is certainly free to call their performance pack whatever they want.
I would have gone with "Viagra pack" name, but "Track Edition" it is.

I personally drove RCF ~4 years ago, and loved the non-turbo V8 sound, the computerized instrument cluster, and interior was OK. Didn't care for the exterior styling cues (especially the nose), the extra weight, or how quickly a few desirable options bumped the price well above that of the M3.

For about $15K less than $97.5K that Lexus wants for the 50 RCF Track Edition, you can spec out fully loaded AMG C63s.
That one will sound even better, will pull way harder, go faster, and with much nicer interior and technology package features. I think AMG looks better as well.

And people think the Competition Package is rip off lol.
At least they fixed the brake fade issue. Otherwise it sounds like they have the same complaints as has been written here and elsewhere.

C63S coupe is by far the best looking car in this segment and maybe the best looking sports coupe ever built. Such a great looking car from any angle and fender flares that make the e46 me and b7 rs4 seem tame.

There is house around the corner from me that has both a C63S and a M4 CS. The M4 is Lime Rock Gray (gorgeous) and the C63 is some matte metallic gray. They have a garage full of better cars (!) so these are parked side by side in the driveway all the time.

Every time I go by, I think how much better looking the M4 CS is than the C63, which is just ugly and plain my comparison. Nothing special about it. Looks like a giant jelly bean or suppository. And the seeing the two side by side accentuates this. The M4 CS is miles ahead in aesthetics. To say the C63S is the best looking sports coupe ever built is just pure fanboy hyperbole.

Subjectively, I agree. The C63S doesn't look as nice as an M3/4 CS especially from the rear. It's nice, but I prefer the Ms of course. Once someone mentioned accord coupe I couldn't unsee it.

It's interresting how you always present your opinions as fact.

, but...

Most valuable info I got from this article is Michelin having specifically developped a 255-275/35R19 PS4S combo for 9"/10" wide wheels for a FR car. It will be interresting to see the specs on tire rack, those could be a very interresting upgrade option for F8X drivers on the 437M wheels.

Love your CS, by the way. Exact same color combo as a guy in my neighborhood. Just a gorgeous car.

Agreed about the C63s
Love the fake exhaust pipes
My favorite feature is the column shifter
Reminds me of grandma's Grand Marquis

That just makes both of them wrong. And actually you might forgive Lexus, who has no Motorsport pedigree and can freely stick nonsense badges on their rear ends without much of a heritage to dilute.

BMW on the other hand - they’ve just lost their shit. They have a badge that started with homologated race cars, and now won’t even bother to make sure that a car they call both “Motorsport” and “Competition” actually is a race car (i’m looking at you, F90)

M4 gt4 got a bunch of podiums and was “race car of the year” last year. I think we just don’t hear about it because the customer racers are $190k and our community is $60k street car owners.
