I think I am moving on to an F90 M5

After owning this m4 for 9 months I think I miss the bigger car
Yeah it’s nimble but the new m5 is growing on me every day
Looking to lease a comp don’t know what I should be at monthly

The M5 is a better car all around except for handling (and looks) but you will be paying atleast double per month for it.

I think they look great. But it would be hard to walk away from a self driving tesla if I was only looking to buy a luxo-barge.

+1 on Model S for driving in style, with ample room for passengers, with astonishing speed.

As a NYC status symbol, Tesla is head and shoulders above BMW/MB/Audi.

The best status symbol in my opinion are Rollers with the “driver in suit” option box checked

I had a 75D loaner recently and the speed was not very astonishing. Or rather I was astonished at how much the pace fell off at freeway speed.

Need a p100dl to be impressive, in my opinion

^This, after just leasing an M550 and comparing that to even a lightly optioned M5 (111k) it was around the $1400 with 5k down plus 7 MSDs/base rate bought down. Compared to my wife's 81k MSRP M550 at a little over $800 a month. Both 3/30 leases. The residuals aren't great at 55%, but I think they have 5k rebate on them now as compared to last month. I could be wrong as I haven't looked very closely recently.

As for the drive, I haven't driven an M5, but I don't find the M550 very sporty. It feels like a really big car and while I'm sure the M5 would definitely be sportier than the M550 by a long way, it is still a very big car IMO. But, it does do luxury very well and is obviously extremly powerful. Add in AWD and you have a really nice car all season car that can carry 4 adults (or some combo thereof) very comfortably.

Dang. That’s Porsche lease territory.

Time for a 330 wagon to commute for the mrs and allocate more funds to your sports cars

Agreed, but a couple of problems, the Mrs loves her 550 and I don't have time for than 2-3 track events a year. Someday as they say.........

Also agreed, for that kind of money I'd be ordering a manual 911 GTS or buy something used in the 911 family.

Having driven the M5 on track as part of a launch event, I was thoroughly disappointed.

Yes it's fast but overall it was boring. A major letdown.

Handling was ok for a big car but it lacked excitement. The Xdrive ZF compromise reveals the danger of chasing 0-60 times. A car is so much more than that. Plus the wheels were shit and the exhaust note average.

BMW M needs to stop tit for tat with AMG and focus on its strengths and core principles.

The BMW M5 felt essentially like a Quattro Audi with a BMW badge. Yes you can turn off the x drive but in RWD the car looses all poise and balance.

As a long-time E39 M5 owner and overall M5 fan, I just have to state the obvious...no MT.

Yes, I know why. But I can't make terms with it.

If your F8X is DCT, I can't see a good reason not to buy a F90 M5 if you can deal with (or want) the size.

Have fun with your decison.
