How best to sell a 2018 M3 in Hawaii?
So I might have to sell my 2018 M3 ZCP, it is loaded only lacking ceramic brake option. What would be the best route to go? Trying to avoid the tire kickers. Car is super clean with only 10.5k miles and I'm located in Oahu, HI.
At first I was thinking to sell it to the dealer ASAP but it sounds like they only give auction values. Reason I have to sell is because my wife got orders taking us to a place where this car would not be ideal. Last edited by PAY M3; 05-15-2019 at 11:44 PM.. |

It may be a challenge to find a buyer in Oahu within a short amount of time, unless you're willing to take a major hit.
I'd start with getting the car appraised at BMW of Honolulu for trade in value. Then perhaps consider expanding your target market to California, Washington and Oregon for more exposure. There are also outlets like Carmax who will pay top dollar for just about any car you bring to them. GLWS! P.S. Pro Tip: Check the KBB values for [Fair Condition] Trade-in and Private Party. A good offer is towards the top of Trade-in and bottom to middle of Private Party. |

Any chance that you have a CarMax on one of the islands?

Bummer, couple weeks too late for me or I might have taken a look. I was shopping the ZCP and the CS but locked in a deal for an AW M3 CS. Will be here next week, hope it arrives in one piece!
Dealers are tough here... not enough competition! Good luck man! |

If your wife got orders, can I assume it's military? My son is at Schofield. He told me they will ship his car to his next duty station. I know you said the next stop is not ideal or condusive, but snow tires might be a better option then taking the hit on a trade. Without knowing exact circumstances, I took a shot at a possible solution.

I would either ship it to Cali and sell it there or leave it on the island with someone you trust. Give them a limited power of attorney to sell it or ship it on your behalf. Car looks great btw
