ZCP guys...best PS4S size for my F80 with 666 wheels? Car is stock height with 13 mm rear spacers, 10 mm front spacers. I'm reading 295/30/20 rear and 265/30/20 front?

I got the 437M style wheels on my f82 with 15mm spacers in the front and 12mm in the rear, running 255 front and 275 rear currently. Getting MP4S for sure very soon. Does anybody know if 265's in the front and 285's in the rear will be chill?

I just got 285/35 MP4S installed on OEM 437 wheels today. They look great. I will be updating my 255/35 MPSS to 265/35 when the tread wears out.

No. The M2 comes with PSS.

The only 265/35R19 PS4S currently available is a generic one.

I don't have any spacers on. I am considering doing a 5mm on the rears. I will have to wait until I get the 265 mounted on the fronts.
Do you think I should get spacers on the rear tires?

I'll be curious to hear how it behaves with the 255/35/19 fronts and 285/35/19 rears. I'm about to replace a set of rears (torn sidewall in one tire) and am toying with the idea of going to 285/35/19 until my fronts also need to be replaced...then go to 265/35/19 in front.

I have a vague recollection from an old thread where there were some concerns (reports?) of issues with hydroplaning, but I'm probably not remembering that correctly since 265/285 seems to be a pretty common setup these days.

Handling has been great so far, no problems with hydroplaning.

Same here. I’m running 265/285-35 and no problems.

But on the rear, the 295/35 PS4S would not be a good option because the tread patch is actually narrower than the 285/35. The 295 is a Mercedes star spec, so it is not standard. Not sure about the 295/30, but I think there is discussion of that earlier in the thread. I personally like the 295/35 profile, and the 265/35 & 285/35 tires maintain the stock diameter ratio front to back perfectly, so you don’t run into problems with the DSC.
Are you sure? Specs on tirerack say otherwise

Yep. Unless they have come in it with a generic 295/35 since I last checked:

Stock Overall Diameter: 26.0” F 26.6” R
PS4S 265/35: 26.3” (+.3)
PS4S 285/35: 26.9” (+.3)

PS4S 265/30: 25.3” (-.7)
PS4S 295/30: 26.0” (-.6)

Tread Width:
PSS PS4S
285/35 — 10.0”
295/35 10.3 9.8”

I was looking at 295 30 19 @ 11"
That would be the ideal pair with 265 35 19.

You’re going to have a diameter mismatch from front to rear, causing DSC problems.

Just got the PS4S 265/285 35R19 for my stock M4. My previous stock MPSS (255/275 35R19) were finished. Don't know if its because its a new tire and has more rubber than the used MPSS, but the PS4S are super quiet/comfy on our horrible roads here.

No opinions on performance yet. As to aesthetics, I personally prefer way more the look of the older MPSS compared to the PS4S. The PS4S kinda make the 19" 437" look small... (coined donut look) (I ordered MPSS 265M0/295* but only to find out they were old stock)

Looks kinda donuty

You have taller sidewalls with these new sizes, so they will look bigger than your old set (they are!). Plus the wider tires will also make those sidewalls straighter. Both effects combined are going to make the wheels look smaller in comparison. That's probably what you're noticing.

^^^ let's hope they make up in the performance arena. I should have investigated if there was a better looking tire/fit but decided quickly when I found out the MPSS combo was a very old stock.

Actually all this makes me wonder what tires are shipping with current year plain F8x?

I gotta ask this silly question, I always set my tire pressure to 32psi all around for day to day driving. (I asked the dealer to set it to 32psi, but they set it to 35psi)

Any perceived difference between those two values regarding comfort, performance, understeer,... even if it's contrary to BMW's own recommendation ?

In theory, I assume that for a given tire, the tire inflation pressure for normal day to day use (speeds < 100mph) should follow BMW's recommendation which is 32psi for the M4 coupe, and 35psi for CS. (Page 223-224)

Lol thanks for pouring salt on my wound. I decreased the pressure to 32psi and they kinda look better : it's like they lost 3lbs of Fat

I am going on a drive now and although they have less than 20km, I'll post impressions on the drive. As I said previously, they provide more comfort and are less noisy that the previous MPSS, but that never bothered me.

I expect them to grip more on 1/2 gear and handle better because they are new! I think that will be the case for every new performance tire.

Update: ouf i forgot what our cars can do for almost two seasons bcoz of my worn rears!!! It pushed me in my seat accelerating few times to 100kph. Can't comment on corner handling but I am sure others have already in this thread.
