You've got to go back into the idrive settings to activate vehicle location.

My connected is now back. No sign of CarPlay. How do I even access it? It used to just be there and now I can’t find it

My CarPlay randomly reappeared yesterday. My connected showed back up the day before. I could access the store, see my account, and access apps from the car again, but still no CarPlay. Then about 24 hours later CarPlay just appeared again. Give it another day and see if it shows up. Hopefully it works the same way mine did.

Finally working again.

When I went to Manage My Device in iDrive, CarPlay has reappeared as an option below Bluetooth.

I selected it, but it didn't work, and it said I needed to delete the device and reconnect. I did. Then I turned off Bluetooth and WiFi on my phone, turned them back on, connected the phone as a New Device, and voila! All services working again, including CarPlay.

This is what I had to do too. Note that BMW will tell you that CarPlay will just reappear. That isnít true, you have to follow the steps above.

I have been out for about 2 weeks too...car no longer showing up on connected app i am unable to re add with the vin. Have called bmw assist 3 times 5/9, 5/13, 5/17 and have gotten the answer that we are down and working on fixing it call us next week.

no apple car play sucks i got depended on it! I have a 2017 m3 is everyone else a 2017?

I am 2018. And agree. I didnít think much of car play until I lost it. Hope you are back soon and be sure to follow instructions above when connected is back.
