It’s not really the BMW Engineers, but the BMW USA marketeers. They are the ones that elected to bundle the sunshades in the exec pack for the US. In Canada, the sunshades are just not offered on the CS at all.

This US car has Icons but no Exec. Not sure how many others came this way. Seems BMW thru in the Icons for free. Maybe feeling generous or maybe left over parts or not enough regular base LEDs.

Hey there. Today I joined the club! Took delivery of an LRG M3 CS.
Only drove 90 km but already love it. |

I'm just over 1400 miles in my CS, and am crazy about the looks and performance. Finally started pushing on the gas pedal some since conducting a very strict break in period.
The only thing that is driving me nuts about this car is the lack of comfort access! Keys are annoying, and basically every car (and truck) that I've had over the past 5-6 years has had it..... now not having it is killing me Everything else is manageable, don't mind the no armrest storage, or dual climate. Although the wheel gap in front is bothering me aesthetically, so probably gonna end up with HAS kit and spacers soon, because I love the wheels Otherwise, I had to replace a rear tire already today because of a freakin nail Also, I was in a 430 MSport as a loaner, and it made appreciate just how precision the M3 CS truly is! This car is so tight and deliberate.

I actually don't like not using keys, I'm a bit old-fashioned.
I will say one thing though. I had an M2 and entering was not too bad with a big door. The M3 being 4 doors it could benefit from some help for accessing. I don't know what feature it is but there should be this thing where the seat goes back a bit when you are entering/exiting the car, and automatically readjusts to the correct position when starting up. |

Just ticked a little over 170 miles and I hate the fact the door locks Doesn’t automatically unlock when the engine is turned off or parked on my CS.
I’m so used to my e90 M3 where it auto-unlock when key fob is removed. The finger wear and tear look on the unlock button kinda bugs me.

No - the doors are set to lock automatically once you drive off and I want all the doors to auto-unlock after I put it in P or shut the engine off.

Sorry if I'm changing topic but what modes does your car start in?
My car has steering=sport and suspension=sport. Can I change that? |

Unless there has been a recent breakthrough in coding I'm not aware of, there's no solve for this. It's annoying for sure for the last 4 years but you get used to it. It ends up being part of the start-up routine. Get in car, put on seat belt, press ignition start button, press M1/M2 button, etc.

Edit: sorry didn't see you most recent post. For what it's worth I never have to unlock my car when I park. I wasn't even aware that it unlocked. By default, pulling the handle twice opens the door whether or not the car is locked or unlocked so it's never been an issue.

I think, E46M3forRay is talking about setting it so that the doors automatically unlock upon shutting off/parking so that then you only pull the handle once. I don't know if this is doable or not.

I'm car shopping and was kinda up in the air between an M2C, M4, 440i.. went to the dealer today and drove the 440i with a sport exhaust, wasn't bad, sounded great, hate the shitty all-seasons most of the ones in stock seem to have, but it was a nice ride. maybe too nice, in terms of civility.. I think I'm looking for something more on the raw side.
My CA then suggests I try out the M4cs they have... wowzers. the one thing that sucks is it started raining in the middle of the drive, but god damn that is one hell of a beast. I'm not sure I could have it as my dd, but I'd love to have it as a track toy. Didn't find the rid too harsh, but I think it sounds great, and the motor just pulls whether you are a gear or two high, or if you are in the midrange, gobs of torque and pull. It didn't even try to kill me in sport+ in the rain! wife wasn't a fan, then again she's not a fan of me flooring it in the x5.. to those with cs's: enjoy em! Now I've basically eliminated the 440 and it's either going to be an M2c (driving tomorrow) or an M4c. getting close to my next ride!
