Michelin PS4S on 666M 285/30 or 295/30?
Currently undecided between 285/30 or 295/30 PS4S to replace my OEM star spec PSS for the rears.
I was wondering if anyone who is currently running them could post pics of the rear tires and post what size spacer they're running. Thanks! Update: Went with 265/285 PS4S. First 4 pics is OE star spec PSS 265/285. Last 4 pics is generic PS4S 265/285. Had to downsize on spacers to achieve little as rub as possible with my ride height. It still rubs little bit on full compression, but very minor, and I think I can live with it for now. Btw, I'm running KW V3. Ride quality seems same. Bit quieter due to new treads. But seems to be about same when you compare new PSS and PS4S. Performance feels bit mushy in the PS4S, especially around corners. Steering response feels duller. I'd definitely go back on PSS after this set. Last edited by krudmunk; 08-01-2022 at 01:21 AM.. |

Need changing soon I've read SS give better steering feel and PS4s better traction so my set up sounds ideal! From a visual point of view SS larger rim projection which good to have on the fronts and the PS4s has a squarer sidewall so I'd say you could have 295 rears and it won't bulge out too much |

You could raise your psi by 2-3 psi on the 4S and it should feel like the SS on the 285/30. |

I don't have close up pics of my tires/wheels, but here are some of my car on 275F/295R 20" PS4Ses, with 10mm spacers in front and 6mm spacers in the rear. Lowered on Eibach Euro V1s in front, with stock ZCP springs in the rear.
Hope this helps. |

How does the 295/30 feel over the 285/30 PSS? Does it feel not as tight around corners as the PSS?

I'd be curious to switch up with PSSes again for a better A/B test, but I don't think I'll get to do so. Also, I prefer the slightly stretched look that the 265/285 PSSes had. I guess that could be replicated with 265/285 PS4Ses to a large extent (even though the PS4S is a slightly wider tire). Comfort and noise wise, I'd say the PS4S wins. |

I've read every thread on this prior to buying my tires. I went from 275/285 MPSS on 666M to 285/295 on 666M and couldn't be happier. Much wider stance and overall the car looks fantastic. This fitment is spot on. No rubbing whatsoever. I couldn't recommend it more. You don't notice much of the "bulge" or "soft" edges around turns. Car will hook up on a hot day with WOT in 1st and 2nd with no problem. Night and day difference.

I wouldn't be that tuned in to how my F82 feels. All I can be certain of is that the front end turn in is the best I've ever experienced in all the cars I've owned. I've yet to experience any notable understeer wet or dry which gives me confidence when loading it up on corner entry. Then it's just a matter of managing the back end!! |

Switched to PS4S last week Wednesday. 265 and 285. Before these tires I was on the same sized PSS for a little over 13,000 miles.
For context, I don't use DSC/MDM at all when driving. With that in mind… I find the PS4S really good off the line and they are superior for straight line acceleration. For example, when in second gear I can get the PSS to spin on demand but the PS4S spin less and in most instances just accelerate - it's pretty impressive actually. On the other hand, I prefer PSS tires for cornering. The PS4S tires are not bad by any means but PSS tires are easier to "read" such that I can detect slip and adjust my right foot appropriately to control things getting out of hand. And when things do slip (as they do without DSC lol) the PSS are more progressive than the PS4S; the transition from grip to sliding is slower and the progression seems linear. In contrast, the PS4S tires are ever so slightly more vague with respect to feeling the tires spinning - I feel like I'm relying more on the chassis to communicate what's happening with the rear tires. Quick note on 285 vs 295: I'm glad I went with 285s because it looks pretty squared off as is plus I do appreciate a little bit of movement and I'd be concerned that the 295s would make the rear too sticky. Steering feel: I don't really pay much attention to this because I focus on "driving with my eyes." I generally only take the time to notice steering feel in slower cars (Mini, Miata, and cars like that). PS4S tires are quieter than PSS tires on the road. I didn't think the PS4S tires much more comfortable than PSS (although I've read that they have that reputation). For my driving style, I'll be using PSS going forward. The only change I'll likely make is that I'll go for 275 up front while sticking with 285 rear.

Is anybody running the 295 MB m01 spec or the N0 Porsche spec on their 666 rears? Thoughts on handlings and grip? The generic 295 are on back order until the end of sept and I'm wondering if these would work well.

Also, I have seen M01 and N0 and BMW star spec tires will vary in width of the tire even though the sizes are all the same. I forgot how they rank in which has the squarest or the stretched sidewalls. If you can't find generic PS4S, I'd definitely just go back to OE star spec PSS. Just my 2 cents. |

If I could wrap my car in your color and achieve the same look/quality of finish, I'd be poorer by another $5K by now. |

Anyhow, BSM really taught me how to take care of paint and helped build proper routine to keep the car clean as possible. I don't even touch the paint anymore |
