CCB’s “sticking”?

So recently I’ve discovered a new issue with my CCB’s beyond the typical noise issues. So whenever I stop to park the car I pull the parking brake and leave. Well when I come back and release it, put it in gear, and go to drive, at the moment the car begins to roll I’ll hear a sort of loud noise from the wheels and the car will slightly jerk forward as if the pads were stuck to the rotors but just let go. This kind of worries me because I’m wondering if they are indeed sticking then does that mean every time I press the brakes my pads are basically non stop rubbing slightly the whole time I’m driving? Anybody else have this issue?

Also don’t even get me started on the horrible noises they make when braking at low speeds...

Thanks for the input

No such issues with mine and no noises either, almost 6k miles in now and they have totally exceeded my expectations.

Have you done 3 or 4 hard stops from 100ish to try and get some pad material on the disc? You need the discs to be a dull finish not shiny..

I actually just started noticing this a couple days ago. It feels like the brakes are stuck until you press the gas and it suddenly lets go quickly

I never had an issue like that in the 3 years I had CCBs on my F82.

Application of the parking brake has nothing to do with the rear CCB pads and rotors; instead, the parking brake applies a shoe to an inside cylinder (i.e., drum brakes) that’s located on the back side of each rotor mounting hat. I doubt the noise you are hearing after releasing the parking brake and then driving away is related to the CCBs.

^ This, I was about to post the same.

The "sticking" you are experiencing is most likely related to the parking brake shoe sticking inside the parking brake drum (the parking brake drum is located inside the rear wheel brake disc hub).

Interesting. I did not know this. Thank you for the input. And the rotors are quite shiny actually now that you mention it. Do you think this would help with the noises I’ve been hearing?

Exactly. 100% what I’m experiencing too. Is this something worth taking the car in for or am I just going to get the typical “well the ccb’s are finicky.. deal with it” response?

When I first picked up mine brand new the brakes were groaning at low speeds, not squealing they have never done that, but a groan.

I found advice from a fellow UK member who said they needed bedding in and told me to do the hard stops, start off gently and get faster and faster. They have been silent ever since, with the exception of the odd very hot day when you get an occasional sound, but nothing worth being concerned about.
