Convince me not to put my summers on

I bought plain looking winter wheels so that I enjoy the summers that much more but with the weather being to nice I want to put them on. Tell me it's too soon and its bad news if it goes on too early.

Not only did I put my summers on today...I added spacers.

Did that work? Reverse psychology.

Although I really did do that today.

I just worry with my wife driving with the summers on and its cold on the way to work. Normal high in march for CT is 45.

the winters are beaters but makes you appreciate the summers that much more

looks like this spring weather will be warmer than average, especially in March and April.

I just put on my summer wheels this past weekend.

I had summer tires on whole winter and I enjoyed every bit of it. I think you should put it on right after this week of rain.

really, wow, i get not traction from the tires below 50, i would be nervous driving on the highway taking turns at speed.

I had so much fun driving it below 30s especially. I was loosing traction on low speed whenever I'll make a turn but the best part is that you always know the car is in control and how you can exit from the drift since you're in low speed. The initial 40-50 second ride is definitely bumpy because the tires being cold

On highway I couldn't agree more on how it never lost traction. I've driven my car from Shelton to New York City on the coldest day with 3F as temperature on highway and believe me I was so happy because it would never feel like something was wrong.

I know pss are frowned upon for being slick in winter but luckily I had really great time.

I had summers on the whole winter as well. When there was snow, I didn't drive, but at the cold temps you can baby the car around and have zero issues with traction.

The winter tires work very well and have alot of traction in the colder temps and this is my wifes DD (we use our cars based on utility) and the kidos go in the car so i need that safety factor built in. I think im going to wait 10 more days. do you think the cold weather accelerates tire wear?

Not sure about cold weather hurting tire treads for summer but surely warm weather hurts the winter tire tread (as what I've been told)

I don't actually. Probably the most I see is one towards new haven and other in Fairfield and Norwalk area.

I'm from Shelton.

You should come to the meet for Stamford on 03-17

I wouldn't put summers on until April if you drive anywhere near the Bronx to Stamford track on I95. It's carpet-bombed right now and you will torture your rides until those DOT morons sort out the sinkholes.

They shaved the entire stretch 18 months ago and never repaved it? Like it's not important to have smooth roads. Cut up 5ft patches, replaced them, and then let everything sit for another 6 mos. Literally the worst DOT job I've ever seen in the history of tarmac building for me.

So true, and hilarious, if it wasn't so damn pathetic at the same time. I think the DOT (or those that give them their marching orders) are total bozos. I'm in an X5M and I'm still waiting to put my summers back on, at least a couple more weeks. Just until they patch the craters. At least there are fewer of them this year...
