I have to wait and see how the final version looks and drives. I’m all for upgraded tech as well. Can we please have auto folding mirrors without having to code them?

I’m thinking possibly M5 Comp down the road as well.

Since there's no wait and see option, I didn't vote. As of today, my answer is 'No'. Unless they course correct and take the G80 in a different direction, and I doubt they will, I'm not liking what I'm seeing or hearing. Once the lease on my CS ends I will likely leave the BMW brand.

ZF 8 speed and 4WD - not for me. I'll keep my CS long term and don't know where I'm heading next. They are all doing the same thing now. Which is a shame.

Yeah, I’ll take a “pure” 6MT + RWD option, with carbon-structure seats.

I think it’s about time BMW charges a premium upgrade fee for the manual transmission.
As lovely as the eight speed ZF8 transmission is, special it is not.
We all know the automatic will be faster in a quarter mile, quicker around the track, but the manual transmission will always be special, certainly now that you cannot even get a manual in a series car.

I think there needs to be a choice of waiting to see the specs and design of the new car. Newer isn’t always necessarily better.

I would wait for at least one year after the release of the G8x b4 swapping cars.

I really like my F80, it's especially great when driving it hard and I could see myself enjoying it for a long time. At this point (9 months into my lease with this car) I don't love it as completely as I loved my previous E92 M3 so I can definitely see myself leasing a G80 M3 when this lease ends.

The E92 M3 ZCP was a car I couldn't stop driving, it was great every day no matter where I was going or what I was doing and I really loved its wide breadth of abilities. The F80 M3 ZCP is much more focused on driving dynamics and gives up a noticeable amount of comfort in that pursuit. I drive a lot (20k miles per year total, not all in my leased BMW) so I would jump into a G80 if they make it just as fun at 9/10 / 10/10 as the F80 but more docile when cruising around town. I may finally be at a point in my life where I could give up manual but I'm not sure, still loving shifting my own gears for now.

I truly love the rear styling of G20 and the camo-covered spy shots of G80 seem to look great to me, too. I don't like the G20's front so I hope G80 looks sharper and more aggressive. G20 has way too much shit going on that makes the front look tacky and over-done in my opinion.

I never buy the first year model. Just look back at the previous generations from the E46 M3 to the E9X to now the F8X. They always improve on stuff in the second year. Plus I get to see how it's performing against the competition.

Love my F80, am not a fan of the C63+Lexus looks of the new car (so far).

I'm really not a fan of the new 3 series style. Dont care for the interior or exterior. The renderings I've seen of the next m3 do look significantly better. In fact they remind me of my current zcp. I love the looks of the current m3. I'd have to wait a year or two and see how the next m3 shakes out. Needs rwd and manual for me to even consider.

This poll seems to be an indictment of the Gxx generation so far. If it’s representative, then the new gen has its work cut out for it to win us over because most respondents don’t seem to view it positively.

Even the people who just lease the latest and greatest don’t seem to be responding.

I would probably wait till LCI.

Also, is the EURO Delivery going to be available for new M3? If they're going to assemble it in Mexico like regular 3 series then I would have to look into other cars that are available for euro delivery, including Porsche.

I’m really happy with my ‘18 M3. So much that I’m going to keep it for at least 5 years. Then I’ll take a look at the next generation M3 but most likely I will move onto the M5 or E63.

I just got a production number for a 2020 F82. My 2016 was one of the 1st competition cars, and that was 3 years into the cycle. My rationale is that in 2023/24, the car will be mid cycle and I'll decide then. I miss the E92 I had sometimes, but think the F82 is better. Do they ever make them not better?

I realize I'm talking about the coupe and from what I gather most of you have the sedan. I'm told and have been reading the 4 series will be more different than the 3 series than it is now. Guess we'll see.

My M3 is in for some suspension upgrades and I asked if they had anything fun for a loaner. He said compared to my M3 no, but he gave me a brand new G20 330 to drive around in. I had no expectations nor have I read any of the reviews about the new gen. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The B48 doesn't suck like the N20 did (I hated that engine) and the steering/front end feels light and tossable. It is fun like the regular F series 3/4s never were. If this is an indication as to what the next gen M3/4 will drive like then I'm hopeful any way.

I wouldn't mind a higher msrp along with a lower production volume and difficult leasing. The leasing is why they don't hold value well, BMW gives away M3s like candy.

It would mean that those who can buy it new or used would have a car that would hold value well. Less sales for BMW but happier customers. Similar to porsches strategy with GT cars.

My lease ends 11/2020 so its fortunate timing for me but here's what my priority is when its due:

1. G80 M3 - Competition AWD
2. M5 Competition (Dependent on Leases Avail)
3. Skyline GTR
