Black 2017 F80 M3 sold today at Pickles Perth

Hi,
I was logged on Pickles online salvage auction today, and spotted a black 2017 F80 M3 being sold. It wasn't much damaged that I could see from the photos. It had a broken tail light and some dents in the rear quarter.

It sold for $ 54k plus fees, so someone took it home for probably around 57k, plus the necessary repairs.

I don't know the history of this one, Obviously a WA vehicle.
Anyone knows?

Cheers,

Sounds like a lot for a damaged car. There are 2018s going for that price without damage. There's a fully loaded f82 in the classifieds offered at 50k.

The one who bought that probably knows about the stash of that white stuff hidden somewhere in there.
Why else over pay?

Dumb comment, ignore me
I didn't realize he was not in the US but in Australia
Different prices

Dudes, australia. massive price difference. plus with todays exchange rate $54k USD is more than 2018's in AUS.

Also as its on WOVR, its $54k plus 13.5% so 61290 plus all the other small fees. NOT a cheap car compared to being buy to buy no WOVR cars for 80k without the black mark on the record.

Yes at Carsales website, there are 72 similar cars in Australia without damage, year 2016 - 2018, and the cheapest one is $69K.
The more expensive ones of the year 2018 with few km, and 'Competition' pack(?) are for sale at a whopping up to $139k, but that must be dream prices. Almost half of the 72 cars for sale for these 3 years are priced above $100k, so maybe the crazy buyer of this damaged one just looked at that, and didn't look at the more realistic lowest priced ones.

- Always some idiots attending the auctions, for example I can't believe someone bought a damaged Mazda 2 for almost 10k at the same auction.. You really could have gone to the dealers and got a showroom car for about the same as that Mazda.
I thought prices would have cooled down a little with the COVID situation ongoing, but obviously not for some with too much $$$.

Cheers,
I'm looking to buy at the moment and its crazy how busy car dealers are right now. Something to do with all the small business tax rorts, I mean, breaks.

I too thought I could get a good deal now, but obviously not!

I've been working for BMW selling cars for 5 years now and honestly, the busiest month we have ever had. Alot of dealers are doing huge numbers both new and used. Wouldn't say its the tax side of things as alot of people arent ABN holders.

Garage List
Can agree, my salesman told me towards May everything has been going crazy as everyone is keen to get into a new car. I also snapped a new car up during this period where the interest rate for car finance is at a all time low for M cars.

Shop around the dealers YanTai, I'm sure you are able to get a good deal as some dealers are willing to discount much more than others.

Stats from a month or two ago suggest they have been doing it tougher than ever. Last year was something like the worst sales across the board in 9 or 10 years and by February/march this year it was down more than the same time last year. A lot of these stats are public. I know the dealers here were busy but not moving much. I was able to pick up a good deal though, was/still is a buyers market
