Dyno Results, looking for feedback.
On Saturday in Raleigh there was a dyno day at BPC, great turnout. Decided to put my car on the dyno today.
2017 M3 competition package M performance exhaust DINAN stage 2 Pretty happy with the numbers, I don't have a baseline but I wanted to share the results. This was my first time having a car in a dyno. Temperature was about 80 degrees, 60% humidity. Definitely open to any insight regarding the graphs. Not trying to start any debates just trying to learn. Thanks! |

Nothing but great stuff from Dinan! This has to be a new world record for their Stage II tune! Amazing!

I dyno'd my M4 comp pack last weekend. It has VRSF downpipes but fully stock otherwise (stock tune) and it put down 435 wheel hp...
I'll post a shot of the chart soon. Can't remember the torque readout off the top of my head but yours is a little higher. Still I would be pissed that a dinan stage 2 is ~15whp greater than my stock tune zcp. My downpipe maybe added 5 or so. |

I've heard DINAN hp gains are lower than other tunes but their torque to fairly strong. There was another ZCP all stock at the dyno about an hour before mine that put down 40 less hp, can't remember his torque numbers. |

1. 456 - 435 = 21 hp.... 2. Comparing dyno results on different dynos with different conditions (humidity, ambient temperature, altitude, etc etc) is comparing apples to oranges. Good results OP. No reason to be "pissed" at your dinan stage 2. If you like it you like it! |

1.) the ~ sign means about. His second run resulted in 444. That's a 9 hp difference over my 435. The average of 21 and 9 is 15. 2.) Yes, you are completely right. Variables aside, with a stage TWO tune vs. a STOCK tune it is certainly reasonable to expect a bigger apple compared to a regular orange. It's not like he's in Colorado or South Florida anyway. The majority of people on this forum (myself included) can't fathom the logic behind dropping $2K on a Dinan stage 2 setup just to get 20-30 whp more than a stock zcp... |

And that's a good point, I should have averaged both runs. The point I was making with the variables was that who knows what power his car would have put down had he been in the same place as you, on the same dyno, at the same date and time. 50hp over stock? 10hp over stock? Who knows. Saying that you shouldn't be happy about $2k for 20-30 whp...I can see how that could be a common opinion. But even OP mentioned he thought he was closer to 40hp over a stock ZCP that was at the same dyno day. So is $2k for 40hp reasonable? Everyone has a different opinion. Different strokes for different folks. |

I test drove multiple cars and this car felt the strongest and that was before I knew it had DINAN installed, I didn't learn about the DINAN tune until I brought the car home. My intention with this posting was to obtain feedback of the dyno results and curve and whether there can be any insight gained. I also wanted to share with the community my results. I was not trying to start a thread on which tune was best. |

nevermind the peak numbers. Looks like it has more power from the low to midrange. Hard to tell without a stock ZCP dyno. Mine was 438whp (dynojet).

Understand, I was intrigued by the curve as well and how early the peaks were hit. I saw some other cars with a more linear hp/torque curve. More of a progressive upward slope. Is this a typical curve/slope for these engines or is the curve driven by the DINAN tune?
