Never Gave a Deposit. Should I?

I ordered the car with my dealership back in April but I did it all over email, I submitted my build PDF and my SA ordered it for me. Last week I went to test drive the demos and saw his computer ordering system with my name on it and so i know that car is mine but should I play it safe and offer to deposit some money in case something goes wrong? I'm just worried that there is no money trail and they could sell the car to somebody else...

Am I being silly?

Don't worry about it. Many "cool" dealers won't make you place a deposit if you seem like a serious buyer. You can get the money back if you decide that you dont want the car, so its just paperwork anyway. If you signed papers, then you're fine.

Oh, I had to sign for my build slot and that specific build and then the bill of sale with the prices that were agreed upon.

Well I didn't sign anything. I had a discussion back and forth with them about the price and that I wanted the USAA discount that I am entitled to and they wouldn't even give me that, asked if I still wanted to proceed and I said yes.

Do that, but I would reapproach the subject of the USAA discount. You are entitled to that. Seems illogical that they wouldnt give you that since it is an offer from BMW, not the dealer itself. I was able to manage $2000 off plus the USAA discount, so I think I made out pretty well.

Dude that is completely insane. I haven't heard of such a deal, you must have paid the least amount of money from anybody on the forum!! I'd be happy just with the USAA discount. After all this is a discount offered by BMW and the dealership's bottom line will not be affected.

I misspoke. It was $2K off plus the USAA ($3K off total) There are plenty of people who did ED that got better deals, and I think a couple NJ guys got $2500 off, but I dont know if they were mil or not.

No way, I think back to when I ordered my E92. As high strung as I am and if someone would have told me I couldn't get my car afer waiting so long, then I would have gone crazy.
