New 2017 M3 Purchase
I found a nice M3 2017 fully loaded for MSRP $85k.
I was wondering how much I could negotiate for as this is my first car purchase. The car has been on the lot for almost a month and BMW is no longer making 2017 models anymore. I also have about $4500 worth of rebates, but of course that doesn't cost the dealer anything. I'm trying to aim for $79k out the door incl tax, title, license, etc. Is that reasonable, could I go further, or is sub 80k unrealistic? |

Negotiate your best deal and your trade (if applicable) before you pop the rebates out. A reasonable target is about 1K over invoice, depending on location. If the car has been on the lot for a while, that should be easily beaten. Good luck. And there is a whole thread on 2017 pricing. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1279690

https://www.edmunds.com/bmw/m3/2017/...b=sedan&color= And your dealer should be willing to print an invoice price record for that car.

Dealer said that a $4300 discount off $85k MSRP is best they can do and it's at cost...they also said they're not allowed to show invoice and I have yet to get a response about their money factor and residual. Not sure if I should keep pressing them or move on somewhere else.
The car's been on the lot for a month and it's a 2017 model. I know end of April is end of their quarter so I don't get why they're still trying to be stingy. One salesman even said that they're willing to lose money on a lot car because I'll be bringing them future business. Sounds like a load of bull, car salesman really get under my skin... Thoughts/suggestions? I'm not the best negotiator but I'm aggressive when I know what I want. Any tips much appreciated. |

If my math is correct from the research I've been doing, that seems to equate to roughly $1000 over what invoice should be. Seems decent considering what I've read. I would call BS on it being "at cost" though. And you should be applying the $4500 in rebates after that $4300 discount, as well.

I have another M3 at another dealership I can get. It doesn't have the driver's assistance package but it has 5k worth of carbon fiber accessories and they quoted me a full 1K under this one. |

Also, said dealer also has a stage 3 dinan M3 for sale at the same price, but it's all black...better to get the Dinan? However they didn't upgrade the intake and looks like the competition exhaust not Dinan. Not sure how that affects performance and reliability.

Btw how do you like the S4? I was actually debating between an S4 or S5 in lieu of the M3/M2. |

Here's some tips
- calculate the entire build at invoice - determine how much over invoice you're willing to pay (always negotiate from invoice) - make sure they don't raise the MF - don't count the rebates as the dealer giving you a discount cause they get reimbursed for those. - if you have good credit you should expect $0 down other than first months and fees. I'm my opinion putting money down on a lease is a waste. - post the lease estimate here so others can review if you're uncertain. |

-I can do $1k over invoice. I'd rather get below invoice since this is a 2017 AND it's been on the lot for a month. -I have $4500 in rebates, but yes I'm not counting those as cost to the dealer. -I asked them for a 0 down lease and they said they had no such thing. The money factor is 0.0017 and the residual is 62%. First 2 attachments are for the white M3, finance then lease options. Send 2 attachments are for the Black M3 Dinan Stage 3, finance and lease options. Last edited by TXS; 04-17-2017 at 05:13 PM.. |

I really enjoy the S4. Although the look of it (stock) is very tame in my opinion, and the exhaust sounds terrible. Needed to dump like $6,000 into it to get it the way I wanted it (Wheels, lowering springs and exhaust). Now the car turns heads, whereas in my opinion, a stock M3 turns heads. Part of me wants a car that sounds great and looks great (and is fast) without having to mod it. Part of me likes the experience of modding. maybe I should just "grow up" and just get a car and leave it alone.
