AW CRAP!!! I thought the speed limit info came as part of Navi, and not DA... This sucks...

Stop it. You know I won't and you know the stupid speed limit signs can be missed sometimes and my stupid Touareg has speed limit displayed in the Nav screen why can't my M4!?!? Oh well... I guess I'll just have to rely on my V1 to tell me when a pig's around the bend!!!!! MOUAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

I don't remember which one, but when I test drove an 5 series with these features, 2 out of the three features can be turned off and stay off between startups. The last on comes on after every start and can then be turned off. Not sure if it is the same on the new M.

I have it on my 5 series and it's great.
- Active blind spot detection on a busy highway is great. Makes one feel more confident when changing lanes. I drive "spiritedly" on busy highways and it helps a lot making the right decision fast. Unfortunately it's sometimes too conservative, so the steering wheel vibrates even when you have the situation fully under control and the car behind is actually already VERY far behind. But the measurements are based on the actual speed of the car and the car behind - so although there's rationale behind this measurement (giving enough legal space behind yourself without putting others into tailgating situation), it feels too conservative for a spirited driver. - Collision braking also saved me multiple times on sudden highway stops in traffic. I would not have been in a real accident but likely I would damage the bumpers without it. For a daily driver I think these features are perfect. Both features can be turned off. |
