Best way to mount a phone in an M3?

I contacted kuda via facebook.

They said:

"I'm sorry but our website is managed by the manufacturer (KUDA Germany) and they are trying (since about a week) to get it transferred along with their like 15 other worldwide sites onto an new server which is causing some difficulties. Honestly - I'm afraid that they "shot our site to death" as it already took so long.. ��"

But I was able to place an order manually with him.

Nooooooooo.... The vent magnet one SUCKS. The little fins that stick in the vent fail and it all falls off the vent.

I've had the round magnet one for over a year now. It held up good so far. Might get the square one just to try it.

That's a shame. Love my leather kuda mount. Wanted to get another one for my i3.

I’ve had mine for 2.5 years with a magnetic base glued on, and it’s perfect. Holds my Note 5 even on track.

How do you mount your phone in the car for ease of use? Pics?

Which mount is the best for track use? It needs to be sturdy and not move/vibrate as to disrupt the accelerometer readings.

I have the Rennline and the supplied magnet is very strong.

I've been using the Rennline one for a few months now and it works great. My phone has stayed secure even with a USB cable hanging from it to charge during track days and autocross.

Some events won't allow for magnet mounts, they require hard mounts. Glad to know that it's strong enough though!

How strong is the magnet if you don't use the metal plate? I use the wireless charging on my Note 9 at home and putting on the metal plate interferes with that and I don't want to have to remove the cover every time so I can charge.

So I had this same conundrum- same phone even. I ordered this to use with my Rennline mount and it works great. It retains the width that you set it to, so I just slide my phone in and out, no need to release the side grips. I've used it for a few months now and the phone doesn't move at all.

I have the Note 9 as well, and put a wide metal plate inside the case, towards the lower part of the phone - approx half and inch or maybe a bit more from the bottom.

It still charges wirelessly at home on the Samsung Qi pad, and holds perfectly in the car with a modified Kuda mount (a Kuda with a magnet glued on, scavenged from another phone mount). Works even on tracks, but the only disadvantage is that it sits a bit low and it’s hard to follow the changing display in Harry’s Lap Timer app. That’s why I’m looking for a higher mount.

I’m even ok with buying a windshield Ram mount for track use, if the Rennline mount works on the street.
