Rear suspension wobbly and bumpy
Need some help. For the past couple of days my car has felt super unstable.. in the rear it feels super wobbly and bumpy. I feel it at all speeds low and high. I feel it in all modes as well comfort, sport and sport plus. I checked my balance and the wheels are balanced. I'm currently on hr springs and have had them on for 15k miles with no problem. Anyone have any similar issues with their car.

You’re on dynamic suspension.
Your rear shocks could be blown/worn This is a common issue with running springs without matched shock valving/stroke. I believe you can check it by removing the rears and put a load and see if it springs back up or gives any resistance. Ideally putting them on a a shock tester would be ideal. Also maybe worn wheel bearings? |

Read up here
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1703987 Not exactly same brand but could be related issues. Reason why I removed my Swift springs and went with Bilstein Damptronic system. Interestingly around the same mileage as you, when I started feeling my suspension really loosened up and felt floaty and a loss of confidence in corners. Only way to check shocks is by taking them off me thinks. Maybe esys or similar application has a check/calibration feature but I know blown/worn EDC shocks/struts will not provide dash error. |

Also deli333 has recently reported similar issues in this thread https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1703457
I will say I put 70k miles on an f80 with H&R SS springs and edc w/no issues, and while you can get slightly more comfort lowered on some higher end street coilovers or better grip/control from race valved coilovers, the edc does offer a good bit of damping force/adj (coding) to match w/ diff springs... even the most robust shocks built for the long haul will need to be rebuilt or replaced eventually and of course high end race coilovers w/ low seal drag and thin oils will feel better initially but need rebuilding more often |

Following this topic..
Thank you whitstap, last update: I am about to throw the car from a cliff. I am literally so pissed off and also ripped off as well. problem still could not be found and sometimes it just goes crazy. when that happens i switch the engine off/on again and suprisingly it gets a little bit better. i doubt shocks will make a difference. I swapped tyres etc, couple of garages tried 4 wheel alignments, camber and toe settings but not solution. lastly the guy in garage said he will understand the problem, he didnt let me show him because of corona and i wasted some more money. i dont know how those people get specialist certificate.. |

Mate, it’s your shocks. These shocks are no good with lowering springs, I’d H&R’s with my 1st gen M4 and after 9months it felt like the shocks was dead.

Best to change the fronts as well since you replaced the rear’s with new shocks. But the simple truth is the standard shocks are crap, am going to go with the Bilstiens B6’s EDC shocks as these are heavy duty or the B8 which are a shorter shocks designed to be used with lowering springs as stated on the Bilstiens website. The only thing is the B8’s are not EDC but a way around this is to code out that function from the car.
