Current Residuals and MF

Hey guys, got a quote for a M4. Individual color car sitting on the lot. 36 months, 7500 miles per year. They offered it to me for 85k. Sticker is 92k. Is this a good deal? Also what are the current residuals and MF? Thanks !

In this economy, I would be seeking well below invoice.

Sources like Edmunds and TrueCar will have it.

Invoice on an M4 is right around 7-8% off MSRP.

An individual color like this...that dealer is thinking they are lucky to sell the car by the end of summer with these economic conditions. And it is only getting worse.

They have been sitting on this particular car for several months. Maybe longer. So what's a fair out the door price if they are asking 92k? One thousand over invoice?

Honestly, I’d offer them 78k. They may not take it today but they will beg for it in a month.

A month? looks like 3-5 if you ask me.

OP, let them sweat. Emphasis is on them, not you. Covid-19 will make them bleed.

Just want to update. I guess dealers are not that flexible on individual colored cars. They said if it was a standard color, they have more wiggle room. Go figure ... LoL

I’d tell them that you are now considering another car and force their hand. If these guys sell 3 cars between now and the end of the month I would be shocked

what are your thoughts on how COVID-19 is going to affect sales of these cars, both new or used? I would think that car sales have gone in the toilet, but I would think it's probably too soon to see the prices really start to drop... if this "stay in place" maintains another month or so - I would think the deals to be had on cars will be unreal.

It's hard to say at the moment. Everything is fluid and constantly changing.

I would offer no less than 12% MINIMUM off BEFORE incentives on an M4 that is outgoing and in this economy. Individual color means nothing. Wait it out and they will be begging you to take that car for a deep discount.

What kind of percentage of MSRP do you think one could get on a car sitting on the dealer's lot??

Looking online there are still dealers that have nicely optioned and for competitions with MSRP's in the low to mid 80s thousands

If you took 20% off and then lease it - Because the residual is still based off the MSRP you can get pricing down around 700 with taxes by my rough calculations.

I believe your math is correct. I was calculating numbers that reflect roughly $700 to $800/month with taxes included. Of course, a down payment will further downplay the monthly payment.
