Those look awesome and I need!!!! Nearly had some sex wee.
1 question, which pads did you go with and a)do they squeal b)are they good for road/track? I have used the F4R in the past and thought they were amazing but I see that Essex do the F8R???? wow.

I went with the Ferodo DSUNos.. they're like DS1.11 but with more top of pedal bite.. which I prefer.. Yes they do squeal a bit on the streets and dusty like most metallic pads are.. but I don't mind.

I use Ferodo DS2500 for daily driving and DS Uno for track days. DS2500s are less noisy vs Uno and they have a bit better when it comes to dust. However Unos are almost not drivable on the streets to me due to very high noise, everybody asks me what happened to your brakes when I use them on street after track on the way home |

Just a quick track update - I was at Laguna Seca yesterday and it is known to be hard on the brakes. My AP Racing kit held up like a champ, I was braking deep into braking zones with no issues at all - session after session, all day!

I like the DSUNOs as well. You can swap to the DS2500 for street driving and they are pretty silent.

Do you have a brake duct kit on your car or just the BBK?

Those look very nice indeed.
A few questions if you don’t mind: - do these come with rear rotors and calipers as well? If so can you post a pic? - are those SM-10 wheels in 18” size or 19”? I’m making plans for my next car as the M3 is coming out of the lease, and trying to calculate the TCOs with various cars but including tracking. Thanks!

The Apex SM-10 wheels are 18". They may release 19" at some point. |

I installed the Essex/AP 9668/9449 F/R kits at the same time. So I can't say how much of a difference the R kit made. However, I will say the F/R kit has excellent linear feel, easy to modulate and smooth release. The F/R kits save > 30 lb of unsprung weight.

"We recommend removing the pad tensioners and running the original pad retainer blocks for track use. The quick release springs should only be used if you are endurance racing where a pad change during the race is a possibility. Having the blocks (either the pad tensioners or the standard ones) do increase caliper rigidity. " Obviously, the quick release springs can handle track/race duty, but you might be better off with the standard blocks when tracking your car. Cheers! Ali |

w00tw00t have you got any shots of the kit where the Hat sits on the Hub / Wheel Locator? Wondering if you still get the full depth of the OEM wheel locator with the essex hats?
